Job Description
As a valued contributor to our organization, you will develop category strategy for one or multiple categories of spend and identify potential sourcing and demand management opportunities. In this role, you will develop category insights through analysis of historical and projected spend, contractual relationships, and industry trends. You will develop and execute strategic sourcing plans, partnering with business unit stakeholders and sourcing leads to drive optimal value for purchased goods and services.

The Category Manager – Enterprise and Market Data role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing, procurement, licensing, and governance of financial information, market data, research, analytics, and enterprise data feeds
- Manage relationships with key suppliers—including Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P Global, and others—to ensure cost efficiency, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with teams across various organizations to align supplier services with Fannie Mae’s business strategy and partner requirements.
- Develop and execute a long-term category plan for Enterprise and Market Data, encompassing market data, research, analytics, credit ratings, and housing-related datasets.
- Promote demand management by streamlining suppliers and standardizing products to maximize business value.
- Lead comprehensive sourcing and contract negotiations from start to finish.
- Achieve measurable cost savings and return on investment.
- Manage strategic relationships with suppliers of data, including real-time and delayed market data, desktop analytics terminals, news feeds, legal research tools, credit and fixed-income ratings, and MLS/housing-related datasets.
- Evaluate supplier performance and support remediation efforts when necessary.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with data governance standards.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experience
- 6+ years of sourcing experience, with a focus on Enterprise and Market Data.
- Strong contract negotiation skills, with experience redlining and collaborating with Legal on complex agreements.
- Demonstrated track record leading successful sourcing projects with measurable qualitative and quantitative outcomes.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability by learning and responsibly applying new techniques, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, with expertise in using sourcing metrics and linking them to corporate objectives.
- Experience in supplier financial analysis and reporting, with strong spreadsheet proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with eSourcing and project management tools.
