Category Development Marketing – Consumer Business Group in JapanKey Responsibilities1. Owns category growth and consumer understanding in the country/region and main KPIs are profit center YOY OSG, Std. GM and Market Share2. Country category expertise to execute category/portfolio strategies and plan3. From NPI to product availabilityResponsibilities1. Portfolio- Adapt the area portfolio strategy and marketing plan for specific regions or countries.
- Manage NPI pipeline & product launch
- Establish base pricing strategies for each portfolio to achieve standard margins of the profit center.
- Develops price increase plans to optimize margins and address inflation or cost changes.
- Collaborates with APL to implement price guidance.
- Own overall sales growth targets for campaigns within the country or region.
- Ownership to decide on campaign launch timing (go or not go) based on channel readiness.
- Implement Local campaign strategy by defining.
- Analyze syndicated data to identify key growth opportunities and lead projects to gain or recover market share.
- Manage and track local activation budgets.
- 5+ years of experience in category, consumer, or brand marketing in FMCG. Lead marketing roles including new product launches.
- 5+ years of experience in collaborating with agencies/designers.
- Data based mindsets with strong analytical skills to identify growth implications.
- Strong influence in leading diverse internal and external team members and stakeholders.
- Openness to drive productive change, with the ability to see the big picture, define new approaches, and take appropriate risks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., PowerPoint, in-person, email) with both global and local teams.
- Ability to manage multiple project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Basic P&L knowledge
- Japanese: Native
- English: Business level
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
