Job Title:Capital Planning Analyst

Scope of Position 

The Capital Planning Analyst is a strategic partner within the Wexner Medical Center (WMC) Space Planning department. This role optimizes the capital investment lifecycle through advanced analytics, standardized reporting, and portfolio governance. The Analyst collaborates closely with Finance, Facilities Design & Construction (FDC), Facilities Operations & Development (FOD), Supply Chain, and IT partners to utilize robust tracking mechanisms, enabling objective project prioritization, executive insights into workforce planning, and alignment of human resources with enterprise capital demands.

Position Summary

Reporting to the AVP of Space and Facility Planning, with a “dotted line” to the Sr Director of Capital Projects & Real Estate, this role provides essential capital analytical and business support to the Space Planning leadership team. The primary objective is to accelerate the planning lifecycle—encompassing capital planning, space programming, and project initiation—through process innovation and technological optimization. Accelerates project delivery by transforming raw data into actionable insights, streamlining cross-functional workflows, and championing digital tool adoption across the planning team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Construction, Development or IT. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.

  • 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Must demonstrate a history of cross-functional collaboration with Finance, IT, capital asset management or Facilities departments.

  • Advanced-level Excel (Power Query, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and Power BI for automated dashboard development; proficient in PowerPoint for translating complex data into executive-level narratives.

  • Proven experience developing training materials and mentoring cross-functional teams to drive adoption of technical tools and standardized processes.

  • Proven skill in synthesizing complex data from financial, HR, and project management systems into accurate, executive-level reports.
