ISS STOXX is hiring a Capital Markets Specialist to join the Corporate Actions team within the Index Operations Department.
The Index Operations is organized in 4 units - Index Surveillance and Monitoring, Index Review, Corporate Actions, and Index Dividend Research across 6 locations (New-York, Frankfurt, Zug, Prague, Delhi, and Hong Kong) and is responsible for any day-to-day activities related to the maintenance of indices under STOXX mandates.
Index Operations activities cover indices such as EURO STOXX 50, STOXX Europe 50, STOXX Europe 600, as well as DAX indices, and Customized Indices. The Index Operations teams are also involved in any Strategic Projects where expertise on Index implementation, maintenance, regulations, and customer interface is required.
ResponsibilitiesThe overall successful candidate comes with a strong background on Index Portfolio management and will be part of high-performing team. They will support the team by applying knowledge and skills to a large number of routine and non-routine activities.
In this role, you will handle the research and implementation of corporate actions for equities (e.g.: M&A activities, dividend payments, stock splits, spin-offs, etc.). In addition, you will manage all the data associated with it, including sourcing, cleansing, and organizing of corporate events, references, and ownership data. Other responsibilities might include overseeing ownership research and providing accurate information to clients via publications and notifications.
In this role, you will have direct communication with customers and third-party providers regarding corporate actions.
Moreover, you will bring market expertise to participate in strategic projects as a subject matter expert – proposing new tools, shaping technical requirements, testing new solutions, and sharpening Index Operation’s processes and workflow documentation.
You will represent a key growth area for the company and are expected to be a significant contributor and team player.
Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or equivalent
At least 2-3 years of professional experience in a financial environment (preferably Index Business, Portfolio Business, Asset managers, Product Development, or Structuring)
Good understanding of the financial Markets environment, its working constraints, and philosophy
Strong analytical and conceptual skills and know-how in financial information and financial markets, including understanding of the corporate actions on an Index
Experience and track record in Corporate Actions management, Index Operations, Securities and listed companies Operations (Middle and back office)
Be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks time-efficient and autonomous manner in parallel, and work on tight deadlines
Ability to learn autonomously with a minimum of supervision and training
Fluency in English and in a second European language, both oral and written (Spanish, French, Italian, or German, etc.)
Good understanding of market data applications such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg
Team player across functional domains and at all levels, solution-oriented, and with good communication skills
Data analysis/cleansing, data processing rules, and techniques
Knowledge of a third language from a European country
Python, Access, and VBA programming skills, ideally combined with database knowledge and SQL
