Bridgenext is seeking a Capital Markets Business Analyst with strong domain knowledge and hands-on experience in reference data management systems such as Markit EDM / Opus, Bloomberg Data Management Service (BDMS), or an equivalent platform. The role requires practical expertise in security mastering, market data and prices across asset classes, entity/issuer mastering, and portfolio/fund mastering.

The Business Analyst will support a reference data platform replacement, working with business stakeholders. You will document current processes, define requirements, review vendor mappings and validate downstream impacts. This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring direct data analysis and ownership of clear, testable business requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead discovery workshops with business SMEs, reference data operations, platform vendors and downstream application owners
• Document security master, pricing, entity/issuer and portfolio/fund data requirements, including asset-class-specific attributes and relationships
• Capture data sourcing, source precedence, matching, enrichment, golden-copy creation, validation and exception-handling rules
• Analyze security identifiers and cross-references, issuer hierarchies, portfolio structures and their downstream business usage
• Define pricing requirements across asset classes, including sources, valuation dates, currencies, missing or stale prices and validation rules
• Review vendor-provided field mappings and transformations with the EDM Consultant and data owners; document gaps and business impacts
• Assess functional differences between current and target platforms, including publication formats, schedules and request/response behavior
• Create process flows, data dictionaries, functional specifications, user stories and measurable acceptance criteria
• Partner with QA on test scenarios, expected results and reconciliation rules; investigate discrepancies and support UAT
• Maintain a prioritized requirements backlog and communicate decisions, dependencies and risks to product and delivery stakeholders

Workplace:  This is a Hybrid position. Working remotely in Eastern timezone with some onsite in Toronto office

Must Have Skills:

• Demonstrated hands-on Business Analyst experience in capital markets, investment management or asset management
• Direct experience with Markit EDM / Opus, BDMS, or an equivalent capital-markets reference data management platform is mandatory
• Practical knowledge of security mastering, including instrument attributes, identifiers, classifications and cross-references
• Strong understanding of market data and prices across multiple asset classes, including source selection and data-quality controls
• Experience with entity/issuer mastering and portfolio/fund mastering, including relationships, hierarchies and downstream consumption
• Experience documenting source precedence, mastering rules, transformations, exception workflows and golden-copy requirements
• Hands-on SQL and Excel skills for data profiling, mapping validation, reconciliation and root-cause analysis
• Ability to lead stakeholder workshops and translate complex data requirements into clear specifications and testable acceptance criteria

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with reference data platform replacement, migration or implementation programs
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and other external market-data feeds and their integration into reference data platforms
• Exposure to public and private asset data across equity, fixed income, derivatives and alternative investments
• Experience supporting regression testing, parallel-run reconciliation and business acceptance of reference data changes
• Familiarity with investment platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, Findur, Aladdin, Eagle or Charles River
• Experience with data governance, lineage, stewardship and operational exception management

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Bridgenext provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as described above. The current salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 CAD annually. Our comprehensive total rewards program goes way beyond a competitive salary.
