Position Summary: The Capital Markets Analyst will focus on analyzing, evaluating, and monitoring financial data, and creating reports to support Primis Mortgage within capital markets, to include developing Wall Street relationships and executing trading/hedging of the mortgage pipeline. In this role, the Capital Markets Analyst with work with leadership to help make decisions about investment activities, financial risk mitigation strategies and business development plans.
Essential Functions
- Administer the Primis lock desk to manage all loan locks, lock extensions, lock expirations and any questions related to locks.
- Ensure not expired or canceled locks on in the pipeline to allow clean data to feed the hedge model.
- Monitor incoming locks for Best Efforts locks, that will need to be manually locked with the investors.
- Manage all pricing concessions to assure they are within prescribed limits and report on all outliers.
- Manage individual contributors and branches for overall margin, net of concessions to drive appropriate margin adjustment decisions from senior management.
- Produce daily reporting for progress to/derivation from monthly company goals.
- Produce monthly reporting for analysis of company performance.
- Produce ad hoc reporting to address issues and facilitate strategic recommendations.
- Perform complex financial analysis on various aspects of capital markets metrics to maximize revenue and minimize loss.
- Evaluate financial products and loan investors within capital markets to broaden liquidity and drive revenue at the direction from the EVP Capital Markets.
- Develop/manage the process for onboarding new investors/products and creating a priority matrix based on profitability, cost of implementation, and benefit to the firm; to stack rank where resources will be allocated.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Marginal Functions
- Track capital markets daily to stay updated on current trends, price changes and other market activities.
- Administer Product Pricing Enging (PPE) on rolling out new investors, managing margins, branches, overlays, etc.
- Work within MCT Live daily to understand the pipeline risk position and execute trades to mitigate interest rate risk.
- Analyze and execute loan trades via the MCT Live platform to enhance best execution opportunities to maximize gain on sale revenue.
- Reporting on pipeline fallout and renegotiation, to tie back to pull-through analysis and modeling inside of MCT Live.
- Prepare presentations for senior management, the board of directors and investors to communicate capital market trends, gain on sales, risks and other important data.
- Develop and automate reporting inside of DOMO, leveraging SQL.
- Negotiating rates and pricing with LO’s to determine profitability.
- Facilitate float down negotiations when the market experiences rallies.
- Provide rate and price analysis of current competitors.
- Manage Investor Pricing Caps to hedge risk from investor fading.
- Monitor the outstanding pipeline to assure that all locked loans are effective through their projected closing date.
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and Bank policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, SAR, CTR, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, EEO, and fair employment practices.

Minimum Educational & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, statistics, data analytics, economics, or another related field
- Experience with data analysis and statistics
- Preferred certifications – CFA or CMSA

Physical Demands
In terms of an 8-hour workday, “occasional” equals 1% to 33%, “frequent” equals 34% to 66% and “continuous” equals 67% to 100%.
