This 10-week internship program, beginning in June, offers a set hourly rate of $35.00 an hour.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
As an intern on our Capital Markets team, you will receive a first-hand look at daily market activities in the Mortgage-Backed Security space in an energetic environment on the Fannie Mae Market Room trading floor. Our dynamic internship program provides an opportunity to join one of the following market-facing teams: Pricing, Whole Loan Conduit, Mortgage-Backed Security (MBS) Liquidity, Credit Risk Transfer (CRT), Structured Transactions, Securitization Policy, Multifamily Capital Markets, Market Risk, Retained Portfolio, Trading Analytics, Investor Engagement & Advocacy & Treasury.
Examples of intern tasks and projects include:
- Contributing to data analysis in support of desk objectives and making business decisions
- Assisting tracking market activities and providing operational support to the team
- Gathering data to support hedging and trading activities
- Assisting with monitoring financial markets to capitalize on recognized patterns or according to a strategy
- Tracking financial market activities, use internal valuation and risk models to assist with analysis, and build proficiency with market data sources
- Assisting in coordinating the development and monitoring of key risk indicators
There are multiple openings for this position, and they will be based in our Washington, D.C. (Midtown Center) office.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Qualifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Academic Achievement (preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher)
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date of Spring 2027
- Business, Management, Finance, and Information Systems majors are preferred
- Strong analytical background
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere
- Self-starter, strong business acumen, and results focused
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong aptitude with technology applications (Excel, Bloomberg, Tableau, SQL, PowerBI, Coding Languages)
