We are recruiting for junior, mid-level, and senior engineers with a background in Software Engineering to support our team. This position can be located in either of the following locations: Redondo Beach (CA), Azusa (CA), Gilbert (AZ), Chandler (AZ), Colorado Springs (CO), Aurora (CO), Roy (UT), Huntsville (AL), Morrisville (NC), Dulles (VA), Fairfax (VA), and Linthicum (MD). Due to the nature of this work, this position will be 100% on-site.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the follow:

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications for Levels 1-4:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree (Level 1)
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 1 year (Level 2)
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year (Level 3)
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years,  or PhD with 4 years (Level 4)
  • An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance required at the time of application
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages
  • Understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • STEM degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience in ground software development
  • Experience with one or more of the following: C/C++, Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
  • Familiarity with Agile principles, processes, and Atlassian tools

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
