Job Description / Justification
NYPD - CAD Integration Engineer
- Manage the CAD integration with NG Call Handling.
- Directs the configuration of equipment and subsystems into both PSAC environments for the NG9-1-1 Implementation.
- Advise the City and NG9-1-1 team on the integration, engineering and technical issues on the phases that include Telephony, Logging & Recording, Computer Aided Dispatch and Call Handling.
- Provide direction on Functional interfaces, testing to ensure CAD system meets requirements of the system.
- Ensure the CAD integration within the NG9-1-1 program is delivered on time and meets NYPD requirements.
- Validate CAD interfaces and participate in end-to-end System integration testing.
- Identify appropriate sequence and scheduling of integration efforts
SCOPE OF SERVICES

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
- At least 12 years of experience in the engineering field.
- Provide expertise in existing NYPD ICAD systems
- Participate in the integration and testing of the NextGen911 Call Handling System with outlying systems, specifically the NYPD Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Lead technical discussions in integration planning and review meetings and managing the action items
- 8 years Expertise on Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) for Police systems
- Experience in implementing a Call Handling System
- Identify system level use cases and test cases targeted at interface validation, as well as assisting the SDE team, project leads, and subcontractors in setting up and testing the interfaces in the SDE
- Integration experience between CAD and a Call Handling System
- Previous integration / test experience on a large system
Skills Required
- At least 12 years of experience in engineering
- Expertise in existing NYPD ICAD systems
- Experience integrating and testing a NextGen911 call handling system with NYPD Computer-Aided Dispatch systems
- Expertise in Computer-Aided Dispatch systems for police systems
- Experience implementing a call handling system
- Experience identifying system-level use cases and test cases for interface validation
- Experience assisting teams and subcontractors with setting up and testing interfaces
- CAD and call handling system integration experience
- Integration and testing experience on a large system
- Experience leading technical integration planning and review meetings and managing action items
