Job Responsibilities:
Role Summary
Under the direction of the engineering manager, the CAD Engineer will be responsible for product overlays, maintaining updated BoM at all times, drawing updates, supporting engineering changes using the ECR Process and maintaining direct contact with the program team ensuring all questions and concerns related to product are being addressed in a timely manner.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and thorough analysis overlays of CAD files received from the customer
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Engineering Bill of Material
  • Create 2D prints applying geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Check/review drawings for accuracy and design intent.
  • Engages with Engineers, Program, Maintenance, Quality & Production teams to support CAD design activities
  • Generate assembly illustrations using CATIA/NX and CAD tools
  • Update designs based on inputs for Design for manufacturability, Design for assembly and integration
  • Support program team in the development and implementation of VAVE ideas
  • Support other engineers working on the project. Communicate with project personnel and Project Manager.
  • Ability to use 3D printer to produce trial parts or components required for engineering study
  • Ability to conduct effective field checks.
  • Monitor and maintain good housekeeping
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Who we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent education and training required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and CAD viewer programs
  • Experience with SDRC IDEAS, CATIA, or Unigraphics formats
  • Must have knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Must have a good working knowledge of stamping and welding processes
  • Solid skills in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience with basic Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
