Position: CAD Designer Location: Houston, TX
Reports to: CAD Manager
We are seeking a detail – oriented CAD Drafter to support our crane and rigging operations through the development of accurate engineered drawings, lift plans, rigging layouts, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in AutoCAD or similar CAD software and an understanding of crane operations, rigging practices, structural components, and job-site requirements. This position works closely with project managers, engineers, crane operators, riggers, and field personnel to turn project requirements into clear, accurate, and constructible drawings.

Summary: The CAD Designer uses 2D/3D computer aided drafting and calculations to provide support to engineering and operations by preparing accurate and routine lift-plans, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams.
QualificationsResponsibilities:
- Create & revise 2D & 3D CAD drawings for Crane & rigging projects.
- Incorporate crane capacities, boom configurations, counterweights, outrigger locations, and rigging equipment into drawings as required.
- Sets up and maintains an organized file system for execution drawings.
- Meet with the client as necessary to discuss job scope and field measure the jobsite.
- Work with the client and crane operators / riggers to determine the most practical and efficient way to complete the job.
- Assemble lift plan packets with all required details, drawings and certifications.
- Communicate and review the lift plan with team, client, operations, and/or safety personnel.
- Adapt to job changes and revisions efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in crane, rigging, heavy lifting, construction or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of crane configurations and lifting equipment.
- Experience in creating safe lift plans for execution or rigging drawings.
- Familiarity with load charts for crane and equipment and equipment specifications.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Cranebee, 3DLift planner, Liccon.
Skills Required
- Previous experience in crane, rigging, heavy lifting, construction, or industrial projects
- Knowledge of crane configurations and lifting equipment
- Experience creating safe lift plans or rigging drawings
- Familiarity with crane and equipment load charts and specifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, Cranebee, 3DLift Planner, or LICCON
