A Drafter is a skilled professional responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on the specifications provided by engineers, architects, and other professionals. Drafter Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare detailed drawings of architectural and engineering designs from sketches and specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to incorporate design requirements into drawings.
- Review and revise drawings to meet project specifications and standards.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify drawings.
- Ensure that drawings are accurate, detailed, and contain all necessary information for construction or manufacturing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and materials.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the construction or manufacturing process.
- Manage documentation and filing systems for drawings and project records.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and verify design specifications are being met.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Drafter Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
