Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Cabulance Driver to join our growing team. As an Cabulance driver with Northwest Ambulance, you will provide pre-hospital and interfacility care, transport patients safely, and represent our organization with professionalism and heart. Operating solo in a wheelchair-accessible van, you'll transport patients between medical facilities — handling their belongings, equipment, and paperwork — and ensure every handoff is smooth from pickup to receiving-staff report.

What You'll Do

As an Cabulance driver, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Keep the vehicle clean, stocked, and road-ready at all times
  • Arrive at facilities on schedule and assist patients into the vehicle safely
  • Transport patients along with all belongings, paperwork, and equipment
  • Provide patient care reports to receiving staff as needed
  • Collect required signatures from patients and medical staff
  • Follow all NWA policies, protocols, and safety standards

Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Age 23 or older with at least 2 years of driving experience
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License - must have maintained for 2 years or longer.
  • Clean driving record - limit of 2 citations in past 36 months; DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy.
  • Able to pass background check and drug screening
  • Able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (NWA reimburses the cost)
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including nights, weekends, and holiday
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, occasionally high-stress environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs and perform repeated bending, kneeling, and lifting.
