Job DescriptionProject – the aim you’ll have
We are the Data & Analytics Global Capability at Software Mind. We design, build and maintain data and analytics solutions for clients across industries: financial services, telco, media & entertainment, retail, manufacturing, gaming, healthcare and more. Our projects run on modern data platforms, mainly Snowflake and Databricks on Azure, AWS and GCP, as well as on-premises and hybrid environments.
Role – how you’ll contribute
Architecture & Delivery:
- Assess the client’s current data landscape and design target-state architectures (cloud, hybrid, on-prem) aligned with their business goals.
- Select technologies based on the client’s needs, constraints and existing stack, with Snowflake and Databricks as our core platforms.
- Design lakehouse, warehouse and data lake architectures, including ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, CDC, streaming and API integrations.
- Design data models (conceptual, logical, physical) using Kimball, Data Vault or 3NF, as well as semantic layers for BI and AI.
- Define security (IAM, encryption, masking, row-level security), HA/DR, performance and cost optimization.
- Build data governance foundations: catalog, metadata, lineage, data quality and data contracts.
- Make sure platforms are ready for advanced analytics, ML, GenAI and real-time use cases.
- Create reference architectures, reusable patterns and accelerators for our Data & AI offering.
- Act as technical authority for delivery teams: review designs and keep quality consistent across projects.
Presales & Client Advisory
- Partner with sales and industry teams as technical presales: discovery workshops, solution design, estimations and the technical parts of proposals and RFPs.
- Present architectures and recommendations to client stakeholders, from engineering teams to C-level.
- Design and run PoCs and technical demos.
- Evaluate new approaches and tools (data mesh, streaming-first, AI-native platforms) and share what you learn internally and externally.
Expectations – the experience you need
- 7+ years in data engineering or data architecture, including at least 3 years in an architect role.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions on Snowflake and Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark): expert level in at least one, working knowledge of the other.
- Experience with at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP) and its data services.
- Strong data modeling skills (Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF).
- Strong SQL and good Python.
- Experience with orchestration and transformation tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory).
- Solid understanding of data security, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Client-facing experience, ideally in consulting or IT services, and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to business stakeholders.
- Very good English, spoken and written (C1).
Additional skills – the edge you have
- Snowflake (SnowPro Advanced), Databricks or cloud architect certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, BigQuery or Redshift.
- Streaming (Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming) and event-driven architectures.
- Data catalogs and MDM (Unity Catalog, Collibra, Atlan, DataHub).
- Semantic layer and knowledge graphs (dbt Semantic Layer, ontologies, RDF/OWL).
- Domain experience in one of our verticals (BFSI, telco, retail/manufacturing, gaming & betting, healthcare, media).
- Previous presales or solution consulting experience.
