About the role

• Working in a big team of software engineers, developing and maintaining chromium-based products along with other components of the Browsers (mostly written in C++, JavaScript and Python).
• This is a 4H/day or 6h/day job for a 6-12 month period with possibility of becoming FTE after the end of the period and is specifically targeting students or university graduates.
• This is a hybrid position, and the hiring locations are Bucharest or Iasi, Romania or Prague or Brno, Czech Republic

What You Will Do in This Role

• Work with Engineering Team and Product Team to implement requirements
• Identify, prioritise, and execute tasks in the full software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient & testable code
• Review requirements and determine operational feasibility
• Document and maintain software functionality
• Review, troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems & code
• Integrate software components into existing ecosystem
• Comply with project plans and industry standards
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Collaborate with internal teams to fix and improve products
• Think critically and be willing to challenge ideas & decisions
• Be solution and not problem focused when evaluating issues

​What You’ll Need to be Successful in this Role

Required

• Student/License graduate in the field of Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Full working knowledge of using Visual Studio to code and debug in C++
• Good familiarity with the STL
• Good working knowledge of the latest C++ Standard(s)
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
• Willing to learn Python and JavaScript programming languages on the job and contribute
• Give accurate time estimates on work
• Working knowledge of the GIT source control system
• Ability to write and maintain thread-safe code
• Good in English, written and spoken

Desired

• Good working knowledge of C++
• Reasonable knowledge of Python or JavaScript
• Writing & debugging code using GCC and/or Clang
