Lead Engineer, C&I biased
for executing multiple medium size projects
The Project Lead engineer is responsible for Engineering of jobs awarded to company and is required to provide support and tasking direction to the discipline engineers, sourcing and sub-contractors for ensuring deliveries compliant to the contractual specifications as well as the applicable codes & standards. Planning engineering tasks, assignment and collaboration within the project engineering team. Primary link between Project Manager and discipline engineers for all engineering design documentation.
The Lead Engineer manages assigned technical work force, ensures compliances to applicable codes & standards and adherence to QMS. High focus on on-time delivery, first time right and customer satisfaction.
In depth understanding of the international and French codes & standards is must. Also responsible for Project compliance and adhering Safety-First culture. Responsible for lesson learnt on the job are translated into best practices implementation.
Well versed with all functions required for delivering projects and solutions, well acquainted with sourcing, design & engineering, project management, production aspects.
ResponsibilitiesLeading project execution from technical perspective.
During design & engineering phase, prototype phase and throughout the industrialization phase of the projects.
Ensure performance improvement on customer satisfaction, Cycle Time improvement, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, support cost optimization without compromising on engineering deliverable compliance to customer specifications.
- As technical interface to customers, establish professional relationships to ensure that the project requirements are fully defined and agreed. Participating in progressive project review meeting with clients and ensure understanding the customer requirements and customer expectations on project deliverables
Lead the technical part of the projects in bidding an execution stage:
Ensure that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, and budget) are in place.
Influencing the conceptual design for the basic engineering (P&ID, system Architecture, Layout, FDS, …).Design verification
- Produce or review project specific deliverables. Basic design and detailed design engineering works. This includes document preparation – calculations – P&ID design – instrumentation selection – station control panel design – wiring diagrams - manufacturing specification – inspection and test plans - equipment data sheet preparation –bill of materials. Procedures for FAT and SAT
- Ensure that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team fully utilizing standard builds & standardized work
- Support during FAT, commissioning & start up, and training for customers and staff
Technical interface to customer in industrial phase of the projects.
Trouble shooting, technical improvements, technical changes, variations, …Ensure continuous improvement of best engineering practices in accordance to the applicable design standards
Ensure adaptation of lessons learnt from other projects and adaptations of the best practices of custody metering skid fabrication business. Maintain performance levels stated by executive management committee.
- BS or BA degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronic / or equivalent
- Min 5 years’ experience in similar role in process control industry
- Strong knowledge in Primary measuring instruments (Flow Meters, Secondary measuring instruments (PT, TT etc.), Flow Computer (FC), Gas Chromatograph (GC), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), SCADA, Flow & Energy Calculation (AGA, ISO standards)
- In depth knowledge of flow measurement and regulating of gases
- Conversant with the applicable French codes and standards and preferably conversant with the technical requirements of GrdF
- Experience with GrdF preferred
- Conversant with HAZOP studies
- Successful leadership
- Ability to analyze complex problems and arrive at sound solutions
- Solution and conceptual oriented thinking
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Language skills: Fluent French & English
