We are looking for a Staff Buyer join our team in Costa Rica.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

Materials Administration

• Manage purchase orders (generate, adjust, expedite) based on MRP, project, and customer needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams to set priorities and maintain optimal service levels.
• Track and resolve order delays, communicating impacts to stakeholders.
• Support product development needs, ensuring cost competitiveness and on-time material availability.
• Drive cost savings initiatives and participate in sourcing projects.
• Mentor junior buyers and lead complex commodities/projects, introducing and implementing process improvements.

Supplier Management

• Evaluate, select, and partner with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
• Secure bids to maintain a competitive supplier environment.
• Resolve supplier issues and maintain strong, transparent relationships.
• Stay informed on market trends affecting assigned commodities.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to FDA, BSI, and internal quality requirements.
• Review material change orders and maintain accurate purchasing master data and AVL.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to ensure timely and compliant material flow.

Inventory Management

• Oversee high-impact and high-value commodities and projects.
• Make purchasing decisions balancing cost, service, and inventory targets.
• Identify and manage expired, excess, or obsolete materials.

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree completed in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Commers, Supply Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of working experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Manufacturing.
• Experience in the Medical Device industry (required).
• Advanced level of English (C1)
• Strong negotiation and effective communication skills.
• Proactivity, organization, analytical skills, and critical thinking.
• APICS certification, knowledge of Kinaxis, and experience in New Products/Transfers will be considered a plus.
