Business Unit Senior Quality Manager – Drive a Greener Future with the @One Alliance
Location: Peterborough / Hybrid

Who are we?

We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

As we ramp up into AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

Why join us?

This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of the @one Alliance delivery programme. As Business Unit Senior Quality Manager, you’ll shape and assure the quality of work from project inception through to asset handover, driving a right‑first‑time culture across complex, multi‑disciplinary projects. You’ll have real influence — leading site‑based assurance teams, strengthening standards across the supply chain, and using insight and data to reduce rework, protect milestones, and build lasting confidence with customers and stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading business unit quality assurance across sites, managing Quality Managers, Senior Quality Engineers and QA/QC Engineers

  • Establishing and maintaining a robust inspection cadence, ensuring early issue identification, backlog reduction and consistent Handover readiness

  • Driving a right‑first‑time approach by identifying defects, leading corrective actions and preventing recurrence across the delivery programme

  • Overseeing ITPs, witness testing and lifecycle quality assurance through construction, commissioning and asset handover

  • Providing clear, data‑driven insight through reports and dashboards, highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities

  • Translating quality performance into commercial impact, linking defects and rework to cost, programme and productivity

  • Building strong relationships with project teams, SHEA, commissioning and supply chain partners to align expectations and priorities

  • Championing digital and standardised quality approaches to improve consistency, efficiency and accuracy

  • Creating a high‑performance, inclusive culture through visible leadership, coaching and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience leading quality assurance in complex construction or infrastructure environments, ideally within utilities or water

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing and standards such as ISO 9001

  • A confident, values‑led leadership style with the ability to challenge constructively and influence at all levels

  • Proven ability to use data and insight to drive better outcomes, reduce rework and protect delivery milestones

  • Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to build trust across project teams, partners and stakeholders
