What You’ll Do
· Be the team’s clarity engine. Collaborate and help teams translate financial and business complexity into crisp, well-scoped user stories, test scenarios, and solution diagrams.
· Partner. Collaborate deeply with engineers, QA, product managers, and client SMEs—bringing a shared commitment to build the right thing the right way.
· Deliver executable requirements. Use real-world examples, data samples, and BDD-style acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are ready to go—not open to interpretation.
· Model systems with context. Create data flows, entity models, and transformation logic that reflect the unique nuances of wealth management workflows—from custodial feeds to performance reporting.
· Support delivery excellence. Participate in sprint ceremonies with an agile mindset: iterating quickly, validating frequently, and improving continuously.
· Test what matters. Work with product and engineering to create test cases that reflect real-world usage, especially in our case where accuracy and compliance are key.
· Drive alignment. Keep cross-functional teams connected through clear documentation, timely updates, and shared tools—from Confluence and Jira to mock APIs or Figma.
What You’ll Bring
· 5+ years in a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role, ideally, in a financial technology or wealth management environment
· Familiarity with the US investment advisory ecosystem—RIAs, custodians, portfolio accounting systems, performance, and/or client reporting
· Strong fluency in agile delivery practices, with a love for collaboration over handoffs
· Comfort working directly with engineers, QA, and product managers to refine stories, integrations, APIs and data models
· Experience with data mapping, SQL, and working with large financial datasets (e.g., transactions, positions, holdings, valuations)
· An instinct for system thinking—you zoom out before zooming in
· Experience writing acceptance criteria using BDD-style formats (e.g., Gherkin), or willingness to learn
· An eye for detail without losing the thread of the big picture
Bonus Points For
· Experience with portfolio accounting systems (e.g., Advent APX, Tamarac, Orion, Black Diamond)
· Understanding of data integration from custodians (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing)
· Experience with APIs, XML/JSON, or working with data warehouses
