The Business Systems Analyst is a highly organized and detail oriented application expert who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical partners in order to deliver functional specifications that detail complex business requirements for custom development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as a Strategic Philanthropy application expert during scoping and feasibility sessions with internal and external partners.

  • Advocates for best practices during scoping and feasibility sessions with internal and external partners.

  • Transforms client business requirements and dependencies into functional specifications used by internal development partners to complete custom development projects.

  • Work with internal partners to generate Rough Order to Magnitude estimates for custom development projects.

  • Performs comprehensive product evaluations for potential technologies that could be used to enhance the Strategic Philanthropy software offering as needed.

  • Help facilitate communication between developers and external partners during Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing phases of the software development lifecycle.

  • Acts as a liaison between technical and non-technical partners to ensure custom development project requirements, assumptions, and dependencies are fully understood by all stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Business System Analyst, Product Management, or Technical Writing experience.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down technical requirements

  • Understanding of relational data models a plus (ie. SQL)

  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and demonstrated ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical partners.

  • Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle).

  • Experience in Agile / Scrum and waterfall methodologies.

  • Experience executing and coordinating scoping and requirements gathering activities specifically related to software development activities.

Compensation

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.

US base salary range: $56,300 - $70,000

Please note that the compensation range specified in this job posting is applicable to candidates based in the United States. For international applicants, actual salary offers may vary based on the local market compensation standards and will be determined in accordance with regional considerations, including but not limited to applicable laws, cost of living, and industry norms.
