About WTG

WTG is a leading provider of customized and reliable natural gas infrastructure solutions, dedicated to meeting the unique needs of end users in increasingly complex natural gas markets. With deep industry expertise and a collaborative approach, we develop, construct, acquire, own, and operate midstream pipeline infrastructure to serve power generators, local distribution companies (LDCs), small and large commercial and industrial users. Job Summary

WTG is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join its Business Solutions team as a hands-on contributor across enterprise application projects and first-line business system support. This is a project-forward role: the majority of the work (60–70%) involves delivering technology initiatives that directly support WTG’s growth, including customer migrations tied to acquisitions, smart meter deployment support, system integrations between business platforms, and building out new solutions that improve how WTG operates and serves its customers.

The remaining 30–40% of the role is dedicated to front-line end-user support across WTG’s core business applications, including enterprise resource planning, customer billing, and work management systems. The ideal candidate brings practical experience supporting and configuring at least one enterprise business platform, knows how to work effectively with external software vendors on escalations and upgrades, and treats AI-assisted tools as a standard part of their daily workflow rather than an afterthought. This person is a self-sufficient problem solver who can move between project delivery and support without waiting for detailed direction.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide functional guidance to cross-functional team members and end users during project delivery and support activities.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Business Solutions (60–70%)

  • Lead or contribute to customer migration workstreams during mergers and acquisitions, including data mapping, validation, testing, and cutover coordination to ensure continuity of service for acquired customer bases.
  • Support smart meter deployment initiatives by configuring business systems to receive, process, and store meter data, and by troubleshooting integration issues between field devices and back-office platforms.
  • Design, build, and test system integrations between enterprise applications, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure data flows accurately and reliably across platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to extend or improve existing business applications, translating operational pain points into configured solutions, reports, or automated workflows that reduce manual effort.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, user acceptance testing, and go-live support for new application rollouts and major system upgrades.
  • Document solution designs, configuration changes, and integration specifications so that institutional knowledge is retained and supportable long-term.

End-User Support & System Administration (30–40%)

  • Serve as the first line of support for end users across enterprise resource planning, customer billing, and work management applications, triaging issues, resolving what can be handled directly, and escalating to vendors when necessary.
  • Coordinate with external software vendors on support ticket escalations, patch deployments, and version upgrades, acting as the primary point of contact between WTG and the vendor support organization.
  • Maintain system configurations, security roles, and user access across supported applications, ensuring that environments remain stable, auditable, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain support documentation, quick-reference guides, and training materials that enable end users to resolve common issues independently.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify recurring issues or configuration drift before they escalate into broader operational problems.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Use AI-assisted tools as a standard part of daily work to accelerate troubleshooting, automate repetitive tasks, draft documentation, and improve the quality and speed of analysis.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across operations, finance, and customer service to understand evolving needs and translate them into system requirements or process improvements.
  • Stay current on platform capabilities and industry trends relevant to utility business applications and bring recommendations for improvements back to the Business Solutions team.
  • Contribute to the development of team standards, playbooks, and repeatable processes that improve how WTG delivers and supports technology solutions.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with external software vendors on support escalations, patch management, and system upgrades.
  • Hands-on involvement in at least one system implementation, migration, or major upgrade project.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with AI-assisted tools and willingness to adopt emerging technologies to improve workflows, analysis, and decision-making. Expected to use AI tools as a standard part of daily work, not as an occasional experiment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose application issues across configuration, data, and integration layers.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations, workflows, or integration specifications without needing step-by-step direction.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce technical documentation, training materials, and status updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of data concepts including relational databases, data imports/exports, and basic query writing (SQL or platform-equivalent).
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent priorities across both project work and support responsibilities without losing track of commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the natural gas, energy, or utility industry, particularly in operational or customer-facing business systems.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms, middleware, or API-based connectivity between enterprise applications.
  • Experience supporting smart meter or advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data flows from field to billing or analytics systems.
  • Exposure to customer migration or data conversion activities in an M&A context.
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools used to surface operational or financial data from enterprise platforms.
  • Relevant certifications in enterprise application platforms, ITIL, or project management methodologies.

Core Competencies

  • Self-Direction: Takes ownership of problems and moves them to resolution without waiting for detailed instructions. Knows when to act independently and when to escalate.
  • Adaptability: Shifts comfortably between project delivery and day-to-day support, adjusting priorities as business needs change.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: Actively seeks out better ways to solve problems, including leveraging AI tools, automation, and platform features that others may overlook.
  • Stakeholder Orientation: Builds productive working relationships with end users, business leaders, and external vendors, and communicates in terms the audience understands.
  • Attention to Detail: Produces accurate configurations, thorough documentation, and reliable data work, recognizing that errors in business systems have downstream consequences.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) to WTG offices or project sites may be required.

Salary Range

$75,000 – $95,000 annually

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. This range reflects the base salary for this role and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
