QualificationsGeneral Position Summary The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) – Operations serves as a key liaison between business operations and technology teams, ensuring that ERP and related business systems effectively support organizational goals. This role analyzes business processes, gathers and translates requirements, and guides the design, configuration, and implementation of ERP solutions across the enterprise. BSA partners with Distribution (Shipping Execution and Warehouse Management) and Sales Order Processing stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and standardize processes across additional entities. In addition to leading initiatives for new functionality and system improvements, the BSA provides ongoing production support, drives continuous process improvement, and contributes to the overall health and evolution of the ERP ecosystem. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Systems and Applications.Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities- Collaborate with functional leaders and stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and implement ERP applications or enhancements using industry best practices.
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements for Distribution and Sales Order Processing workflows within Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite).
- Support integration points between Oracle EBS and other systems and business entities (e.g., thirdparty logistics and additional entities joining the standardized ERP platform), including working with technical teams on interface design, testing, and issue resolution.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget expectations for assigned initiatives and projects.
- Coordinate project activities and serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and the applications team; facilitate meetings, requirements sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Facilitate cross-functional working sessions with business leaders and end users to define process improvements and application designs.
- Understand ERP data structures and flows to ensure that information assets are properly governed, maintained, and leveraged across the enterprise; assist in developing analytical, ad hoc, and exception reports to improve business performance.
- Triage and prioritize helpdesk tickets (production support), driving them to resolution within SLA and escalating appropriately.
- Write and maintain SQL queries and reports to investigate data issues, validate configurations, and support analysis.
- Partner with implementation and integration vendors as needed for ERP initiatives and production support
- High levels of personal integrity when conducting the professional affairs of the organization and dealing with sensitive and confidential data relating to risks and costs
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources, particularly across concurrent
production support tickets, project work, and the ongoing ERP upgrade and rollout initiatives. - Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key business, technology, and interpersonal communication concepts, and to communicate effectively with technical staff
and business stakeholders across Distribution and Sales Order functions. - Strong functional expertise in Order Management, Shipping and Warehouse Operations within an ERP environment; Oracle E-Business Suite experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ERP concepts and business processes, with prior hands-on experience on a major ERP system, including the ability to inspect configurations and setups.
- Working knowledge of integration concepts and technologies (interfaces, APIs, EDI, or middleware) sufficient to partner effectively with technical teams supporting integrations
between Oracle EBS and other applications or business entities. - Ability to manage customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parameters.
- Ability to engage with business leaders and end users to understand requirements, and to facilitate and collaborate with various groups to outline processes and application designs that
improve efficiency. - Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to identify and prioritize helpdesk tickets (production support), IT Requests (enhancement requests), and technical and functional
requirements. - Strong analytical, data-processing, and problem-solving skills.Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment, including with external implementation and integration vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Four to six years of experience as a business systems analyst within an ERP environment, ideally including Distribution, Sales Order Processing, or Order-to-Cash processes.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional meetings, managing projects from initiation to delivery, and serving as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
- Functional knowledge of Order Management, Shipping, and Warehouse Operations within an ERP environment.
- Experience supporting or participating in integrations between an ERP system and other applications or business entities (e.g., CRM, logistics providers, or multi-entity ERP rollouts) is a plus.
Fair knowledge of accounting modules such as AR, AP, and GL is a plus. - Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of SQL query writing, sufficient to investigate data and troubleshoot configuration issues, is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Oracle E-Business Suite is preferred; familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus.
- Experience supporting an ERP version upgrade or a multi-entity/multi-org rollout is a plus.
