Essential Job Functions:
Design and Implement data interfaces and transfers between internal and external systems with a focus on efficiency and data integrity.
Analyze data and recommend improvements to make data more useful to the end user.
Monitors, measures and analyzes the performance of interfaces between major systems, servers and the presentation and use of financial data.
Based on analysis of systems and user requirements, recommends long-range system needs and methods to streamline systems.
Maintains and modifies system designs and documentation for data management and reporting systems.
Will be asked to lead system upgrades, modification and on-going maintenance. Ensures all related information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
Continually reviews and analyzes current procedures in order to recommend and implement policies and procedures to maintain best-practice operations.
Develop ad hoc reports necessary to support stakeholder requests.
Serves as an expert of the school division’s financial systems to assist in the resolution of operating issues, testing enhancements of system functionality and preservation of general ledger interfaces with regard to software vendor updates.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear, understand speech and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Physical agility to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, walk and reach overhead.
Work Environment:
The employee regularly works in an office environment; the noise level is quiet to moderate.
Considerable knowledge of business principles and compliance requirements as they relate to public administration and government operations.
Technical capacity in stand-alone and integrated software applications of network systems, Web based applications and multiple interfaces with relational data systems.
Demonstrated ability to develop systems and write programs; to perform complex analysis of large relational databases and to develop and present recommendations; to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel and to organize work and meet deadlines.
Working Knowledge of Cognos, SQL, SSIS and Visual Studio.
Highly proficient in both Microsoft and Google platforms with an emphasis on Excel and Google Sheets.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information system, business or a related field; two years of experience in providing professional-level technical, analytical and/or operational support in the assigned area of responsibility. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
