Job Description
Where you’ll fit in & what our team goals are…At Columbia Threadneedle Investments our Alternatives business offers a diverse range of products including hedge funds, real estate and private equity. As part of the Technology group aligned with the Alternatives business you will initially focus on the tools and technologies delivering solutions for UK real estate.
Working closely with business stakeholders and technology colleagues (product owners, developers, architects and support teams) to improve processes and deliver change; this is where you’ll fit in.
As part of the team, you will be working with great people. Where you will be valued and rewarded for your skills and contribution, making a difference and delivering genuine enhancements that add value to our business. There will be the opportunity to develop yourself further, such as exposure to other areas of the Alternatives business.
How you'll spend your time...
Diving deep into business processes, translating that knowledge into technical design language or requirement specifications.
Collaborating with stakeholders and technology teams to design, test and implement those requirements effectively.
Investigating and performing root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system stability and minimising business disruption.
Identifying opportunities to improve ways of working. That could be smart tweaks to the current process or designing automated solutions.
To be successful in this role you will have...
Extensive, demonstrable experience in a similar role
Proficiency in SQL to aid root cause analysis, data validation and requirement definition.
A self-starter mentality with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong stakeholder management abilities and clear, plain communication.
If you also had this, it would be great…
Experience in the Financial or Real Estate industry.
Familiarity with real estate property management systems such as Horizon, Yardi or Immopac.
Practical knowledge of Python, to help with large dataset analysis and automation.
In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
