Job Overview Under general supervision, the Business Systems Analyst supports the enhancement of business-critical systems by analyzing vendor-provided software (COTS) and translating new functionality into business value. This role focuses on understanding and interpreting vendor documentation, identifying changes in system functionality, and communicating business impact to internal stakeholders—enabling more effective operations and decision-making within a regulated environment.
Essential Functions
- Analyze and interpret vendor (COTS) documentation to identify changes, new features, and potential impacts to existing systems and processes.
- Compare existing requirements vs. new vendor functionality, highlighting gaps, risks, and required updates.
- Develop or modify moderately complex system requirements based on business needs and vendor updates.
- Translate technical changes into clear business insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Engage directly with software vendors to clarify requirements, align on solutions, and resolve issues.
- Partner with business users (including lab teams) to understand needs and validate system changes.
- Conduct requirements walkthroughs and workshops with business, IT, and vendor teams.
- Support UAT and validation activities, including risk-based testing, defect tracking, and triage.
- Maintain and manage requirements within tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Ensure all work aligns with regulated environment standards (e.g., FDA), with strong focus on documentation quality and compliance.

- At least 2 years of experience in systems analysis or similar roles
- Experience working with COTS (vendor-based) applications and vendor delivery models
- Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Experience working with global teams in an offshore/onshore model
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar is a plus
