Summary Generated by Built In

PermitFlow is redefining how America builds. We’re an applied AI company serving the nation’s builders, tackling one of the largest information challenges in the economy: understanding what can be built, where, and how. Our AI agent workforce helps the fastest-growing construction companies navigate everything from permitting and licensing to inspections and project closeouts – accelerating housing, clean-energy, and infrastructure development across the country.

Despite being a $1.6T industry, construction still suffers from massive delays, wasted capital, and lost opportunity. PermitFlow has already delivered unprecedented speed, accuracy, and visibility to over $20B in development, helping contractors reduce compliance time, de-risk projects, and scale with confidence.

As the U.S. enters a new capex supercycle across data centers, factories, housing, and renewables, joining PermitFlow means building the AI infrastructure at the core of every construction project driving the next wave of reindustrialization.

We’ve raised over $90M, most recently completing our Series B, from top-tier investors including Accel, Kleiner Perkins, Initialized, Y Combinator, Felicis, and Altos Ventures, with backing from leaders at OpenAI, Google, Procore, ServiceTitan, Zillow, PlanGrid, and Uber.

Our HQ is in New York City with a hybrid schedule (3 in-office days per week). We prefer NYC-based candidates or those open to relocation.

About the Role

The BizOps team is the strategic center of PermitFlow — the force that turns big questions into executable strategy. We tackle the company’s most ambiguous, cross-functional, and high-impact problems — from new market strategy to operational scalability to pricing and go-to-market design.

As a BizOps Manager, you’ll work directly with our leadership team to diagnose problems, design solutions, and drive execution across the business. This is a uniquely exciting role for a high-horsepower operator early in their career who wants exposure to executive decision-making and a clear line of sight to company impact.

You’ll have the autonomy to own problems end-to-end and the trust to shape a venture-backed, hypergrowth business.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Company-Defining Initiatives — Partner with executives to scope, prioritize, and lead strategic and cross-functional projects.

  • Turn Ambiguity into Action — Structure unclear problems, define the “so what,” and build executable plans that drive measurable outcomes.

  • Build Scalable Systems — Transform insights into repeatable processes and operational playbooks.

  • Deliver Clarity Through Data — Design metrics, dashboards, and analyses that drive business decisions.

  • Act as a Force Multiplier — Collaborate across Sales, Product, Operations, and Leadership to align teams and accelerate growth.

Who You Are
  • 3–5 years in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or BizOps/Strategy at a high-growth startup.

  • Analytical athlete — you use data to clarify ambiguity and drive decisions.

  • Player-coach mindset — equally comfortable running the analysis and leading execution.

  • Structured communicator — distills complexity into simple, actionable insights.

  • Bias for action — moves fast, iterates quickly, and focuses on impact.

  • Collaborative partner — succeeds through influence and cross-functional teamwork.

  • Excited to build at a hyper-scale startup redefining how America builds.

  • Hybrid in NYC — In office Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

What We Offer (Full Time Roles Only)
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a high-growth company

  • 100% company-paid base medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees + healthcare FSA

  • 401(k) savings plan

  • Unlimited PTO and paid family leave

  • Home office & equipment stipend

  • Daily in-office lunch and dinner provided

  • Commuter benefits (pre-tax transit and parking)

PermitFlow provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or family status, as protected by applicable law.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities. All employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs.

What We Do

PermitFlow is a construction technology company that solves one of the industry's biggest headaches: permitting. We're the "TurboTax for construction permitting," offering end-to-end software that takes the pain out of getting building permits. What We Do: Simplify the complex: We turn the maze of municipal requirements into clear, step-by-step workflows Speed up approvals: Our customers see permit times cut from 2-3 months to just weeks Automate workflows: From research to submission to tracking—all in one platform Ensure accuracy: Our software combines local expertise with AI to create error-free applications Provide transparency: Real-time tracking so everyone knows exactly where permits stand Who We Serve: Real estate developers, general contractors, architects, and owners across the United States. We work with everyone from single-family home builders to large commercial developers. The Impact: Since launching, we've helped permit $1.2B+ in project value and over 5,000 units of housing. We're not just making permitting faster—we're addressing the housing affordability crisis by removing barriers that slow down construction. How We're Different: Unlike generic workflow software, we're built by industry insiders who understand the unique challenges of each municipality. We combine deep permitting expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver results that matter.

Why Work With Us

We're not just another SaaS company, we're industry insiders solving our own pain. Your work here directly impacts housing affordability, infrastructure projects, and the future of construction. With backing from industry leaders like Zillow, Uber, and OpenAI founders, we are building the future of permitting. Come build with us!
