Evonik, a truly innovative and market- leading company is seeking a
Business Manager – for Turkey and STAN countries to be responsible for sales activities and develop/ implement countries as well as customer strategies to defend and grow business in Coatings and Inks market. The role will be based in Turkey and to reports to EEU/MEA Business Director.

As the Coating Additives business line of Evonik, we are a leading supplier of specialty additives for the coatings and inks industry. We boast decades of experience in the research and development of novel products for a variety of coating markets, such as decorative coatings, industrial coatings, automotive coatings, and printing inks. Our world-famous brands – ACEMATT®, AEROSIL®, SURFYNOL®, TEGO®, ZETASPERSE®, and much more. 

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing coating additives market share in his/her region by:
•    Achieve sales, volume and CM1 targets
•    Build and strengthen customer relationships
•    Develop and implement countries as well as customer strategies to defend and grow business
•    Ensure the implementation of all sales related processes defined by BL Coating Additives

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the sale of the Coating Additives' product portfolio to the Coatings and Inks industry in the area of responsibility, identify new opportunities and drive them to successful closure
  • ≥ 60% domestic & International travelling to customers in his/her region
  • Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
  • Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the customer organization and to enable effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
  • Develop a personal network within the sales territory and represent the organization at trade shows and other events to identify sales opportunities, promote the organization, and enhance its reputation.
  • Use personal expertise to identify the complex standard products and/or services offered by the organization that meet the customer's needs, together with quantities and product configurations. Present these to the customer with a clear rationale and at standard commercial terms, referring to senior colleagues where necessary to ask for concessions (e.g., price reduction) that gain the customer's agreement.
  • Collaborate internally and work as the customer champion in cross-functional teams to build strong external customer relationships.
  • Enter customer information that has been gathered through research and/or through direct customer contact into the customer relationship management system, to ensure that the organization has quality data to enable effective customer retention and business development activities OR Ensure that team members maintain up-to-date customer relationship management data, identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ability to manage inventory, supply from local stock. High awareness of local trade regulations and import/export business.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in chemical engineering or Chemistry with a strong tendency for sales.
  • Relevant working experience of minimum 5 years in Paints & coatings industries, preferable in speciality additives.
  • Background from a multinational company or a reputed Distributor trading with Multinational Specialty Chemicals 
  • Techno-commercial skills with sound computer literacy with efficient communication skills in Turkish and English.
  • Depth knowledge of commercial aspects/sales issues
  • Able to demonstrate strong business acumen
  • High customer orientation and very good market understanding
  • Effective team player and Self-motivated
  • Person with the sense of initiative to work independently in their region, with excellent organizational skills
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
  • Applies understanding of the business environment and objectives to develop solutions without supervision, while also providing technical assistance when necessary.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge to act independently while providing guidance and training to others on using clear and effective verbal communications skills to express ideas, request actions and formulate plans or policies.
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on reviewing and creating relevant, lucid and effective reports.
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing, monitoring, interpreting and understanding policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.
  • Experience in Turkey market.
