About the Role (what’s in it for the candidate)
Business Manager – Research is responsible for developing a long-term engagement with key research institutes, funders and government stakeholders for growing Springer Nature’s research business to promote Springer Nature’s vision and thought leadership position, as well as monitor and influence key policy developments, from an advocacy and outreach standpoint.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Actively represent organization in external forums and events centric around academic publishing, open access, editorial and research centric engagements
2. Actively support in driving operations and strategy related workloads in driving India Leadership Council
3. Closely work with various state government, central government and ministries to build impact partnership centric around OA transition.
4. Help and support our partners in the process of driving advocacy and adoption of Open Access Workloads
5. Engaging with key stakeholders like publishing acquisition team, editorial and business team and drive measurement metrics, KPIs, business dashboards etc.
6. Build, connect, grow research communities in India
7. Engage with Policy makers/Think-tanks to build engagements around research and outreach
8. Work closely with market research organizations and actively build competitive landscape and strategy for the organization.
9. Actively drive SDG initiative engaging with various national and international bodies like UNICEF, UNESCO, WHO, UNDP, impact investing organizations/foundations
10. Be the SPOC to integrate DEI – internally and externally in the organization from the Research and Editorial standpoint in strengthening our commitment to this space
This role can be in our New Delhi office on a hybrid working model.
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s degree in any specialization (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
- High level of accountability, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with business management tools will be an advantage.
