Rockwell Automation is looking for a Business Manager- Autonomous Operations in our Manufacturing Performance Excellence group.

You will lead a team of 6 direct reports that are building the unified digital thread from edge-to-cloud and through the Design to Operate, to Maintain workflows. The team will coordinate across business segments, commercial motions, and support functions to deliver end-to-end interoperability across our portfolio solutions.

Reporting to the VP/GM, MPX, you will work a hybrid office schedule from either our Milwaukee HQ or Mayfield Heights, OH offices.


Your Responsibilities:

Strategy & Business Case

  • Oversee the Autonomous Operations vision, strategy, business plan, roadmap, and delivery.
  • Build and execute against clear-eyed, return focused business cases for growth and investment.
  • Use customer feedback, market trends, competitive intelligence, industry requirements, and Voice of Customer inputs to guide investment decisions and roadmap priorities.
  • Prioritize highest impact use cases for the market, our customers, and our business, across the portfolio.
  • Deliver and report on measurable results for the business – growth, innovation, customer satisfaction.

Product, Innovation & Interoperability

  • Grow the business and use case for product and technology roadmap for shared capabilities, AI, platform, and edge to increase team leverage and deliver growth.
  • Deliver cross-portfolio capabilities that provide greater leverage and speed to market that span our edge-to-cloud portfolio, including AI, interoperability, Data & Analytics & Edge products.
  • Harmonize and standardize the Edge portfolio around common architectures and capabilities for logical land and expand motions.
  • Partner with global segments and center of excellence to deliver integration and interoperability architectures to deliver the full digital thread, from Design to Operate to Maintain.

Team, People, & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead a high-performing team with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Increase competencies and depth in core domains of Edge, Cloud, AI, and interoperability standards, and Rockwell portfolio.
  • Develop the next generation of business and product leadership while promoting a culture focused on people, accountability, results, speed, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Be the connective tissue between organizations and bridge technical, functional, cultural, and operational domains.

Customer, Market & Industry Engagement

  • Build relationships with key customers, prospects, industry leaders, and technical leadership to understand evolving challenges and digital transformation priorities.
  • Establish a disciplined, multifunctional Voice of Customer (VOC) process that translates market needs into product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Partner with Rockwell business and sales segments to gain a deeper visibility into industry-specific requirements, technology trends, standards, and market needs.

The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline with focus in Machine Learning (ML), AI or Data Science.
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience in industrial software, enterprise software, Platform technology, manufacturing technology, or related businesses.
  • Experience with manufacturers and advanced understanding of manufacturing operations, MES, and industrial automation.
  • Experience building and delivering platform or portfolio strategies across multiple products or Rockwell businesses.
  • Working knowledge of edge, cloud, AI, data platforms, and system interoperability standards.
  • Demonstrated experience building business cases, prioritizing investments, and managing to results.
  • Experience as a team leader who blends technical, product, and cultural leadership to build teams, culture, and next-generation leadership depth.
  • Influential leadership to align multifunctional teams around a shared plan and mission.
