Summary:
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll dive deep into our fuels distribution business—covering propane, diesel, lubricants, and transport—mastering our systems and transforming data into strategic and financial insights. You will collaborate with operations, sales, supply chain, and leadership to analyze performance, guide pricing, optimize logistics, and support business decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations
- Design and optimize efficient data models, following Power BI best practices/Document report logic, calculations, and data definitions
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical, sustainable solutions
- Develop complex DAX measures and calculations that align with business unit KPIs and business reporting requirements
- Create meaningful visualizations to clearly communicate trends, performance metrics, and actionable insights
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and data accuracy, particularly in view of validation to financial results
- Assist in automation of reporting processes, using SSRS and Power Automate where necessary
- Analyze sales and margin performance by product, region, customer, and delivery type
- Improve data quality by collaborating with IT and business stakeholders on data integration and validation and ensuring that all reporting ties back to actual financial results whenever possible
- Support pricing models, margin scenarios, and budgeting processes, highlighting trends and anomalies
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making

Education and/or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in distribution, logistics, energy, or related industries
- 2+ years of experience creating reports and dashboards utilizing Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI principles, including Star-Schema design, relationships, and performance optimization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable analyzing large datasets, identifying patterns and variances, and drawing meaningful conclusions
- Ability to link financial outcomes to underlying operational drivers and business processes across sales, operations, and supply chain functions
- Able to present financial and operational insights clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, data analysis, power query)
- Experience with ERP and BI systems; experience with MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains), or fuel or transportation industry tools is a plus
- Be able to troubleshoot data issues in ERP systems and with automated feeds between multiple systems
