Business Development Representative (BDR) 

The Opportunity 

We are seeking a driven and motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Growth Marketing organization. Reporting into the Director of Business Development, this role is a core part of Candescent’s proactive growth engine - responsible for generating qualified expansion pipeline through targeted, coordinated outreach across an assigned territory. 

This is a territory-based, expansion-focused role supporting existing customers by introducing new partnerships, add-on services, and platform upgrades. You will help drive awareness and demand across a defined total addressable market (banks and credit unions across the U.S.), activating Growth Marketing and Sales motions across platform messaging, campaign follow-up, event-driven outreach, and whitespace opportunities.

As a BDR, you will sit at the intersection of Growth Marketing and Sales, translating GTM strategy into action through disciplined, multi-channel engagement. You’ll leverage phone, email, LinkedIn, and digital outreach tools to create meaningful conversations that surface opportunity and move accounts forward. You’ll be supported by strong enablement, clear prioritization, and close partnership with Sales, Field Marketing, and Campaign teams. 

The ideal candidate is curious, coachable, and motivated by impact - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and sees the BDR role as a launchpad for long-term growth. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Execute expansion-focused outreach programs aligned to Growth Marketing priorities and territory plans 

  • Generate and qualify opportunities through proactive, multi-channel engagement across assigned accounts 

  • Research and prioritize accounts to identify whitespace, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities 

  • Educate customers on Candescent’s partnerships, integrations, and platform enhancements 

  • Book qualified meetings and deliver clear, high-quality handoffs to the appropriate sales partners 

  • Partner closely with Field Marketing and Campaign teams to support orchestrated GTM motions, including pre- and post-event outreach 

  • Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and performance tracking in Salesforce 

  • Participate in ongoing enablement, messaging refinement, and playbook development 

  • Contribute to a high-performance BDR team culture built on accountability, learning, and continuous improvement 

 

What Success Looks Like 

  • Consistent delivery of qualified opportunities, achieving and/or exceeding pipeline and booking targets, aligned to Growth Marketing and Sales goals 

  • Strong coverage and engagement across assigned territories and priority accounts 

  • Effective execution of coordinated campaigns and event-driven follow-up 

  • Clear progression in sales acumen, product knowledge, and customer conversations 

  • Recognition as a trusted partner to Sales and Marketing stakeholders 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related customer-facing role 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Experience in B2B technology, fintech, SaaS, or financial services 

  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding activity, meeting, or pipeline targets 

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms 

  • Comfortable engaging buyers across phone, email, LinkedIn, and digital channels 

  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to manage priorities in a structured GTM environment 

  • Collaborative, coachable, and motivated to grow within a sales or growth marketing career path
