About The Role (What you will get to do)
As a Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in our go-to-market strategy by generating new business opportunities and contributing to pipeline growth. You will work closely with Account Executives, Solutions, and Sales Leadership to identify, engage, and qualify leads, setting up our sales team for success in closing deals. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the front lines of the sales process, driving awareness and adoption of Persefoni’s climate solutions.
Responsibilities (What we expect)
- Research and identify potential customers that align with Persefoni’s target market through outbound activities including cold calls, emails, and social media engagement to generate leads.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand client needs and qualify leads based on their fit for Persefoni’s solutions.
- Establish meaningful relationships with key decision-makers (Sustainability, Finance, Legal, IT) and foster long-term connections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in Salesforce & sales engagement tools, tracking all activities, touchpoints, and next steps.
- Demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results, especially when facing unfamiliar challenges by being resourceful, flexible, and persistent in overcoming obstacles.
- Exhibit a growth mindset by taking ownership of different aspects of the sales cycle and progress to a full-cycle account executive role.
Qualifications (What you bring to the role)
- Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in sales, business or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar sales role, preferably in SaaS / technology sales
- Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage and persuade potential clients.
- Self-motivated and proactive: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while contributing to team goals.
- Sales skills: Experience in cold calling, developing prospecting strategies, objection handling, and lead qualification; a strong interest in developing a career in full-cycle complex sales.
- Technically savvy: Ability to quickly learn and understand the Persefoni platform and communicate its value to prospects.
- CRM proficiency: Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms to manage leads, track activities, and report results.
