Rebar is building the AI operating system for commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.
Commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing firms run billion-dollar construction projects on workflows that still look like it’s 1985.
Construction is 10% of GDP and still massively underserved by software. We are changing that.
We recently raised a $14M Series A from leading construction tech investors and are entering our next phase of growth. We are building a set of AI native products that will define how this industry operates.
We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) who wants to build, move fast, and take ownership early. You will help define how AI changes one of the largest industries in the world.
The RoleAs a BDR at Rebar, you own the front door of revenue: finding the right prospects across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, and booking qualified meetings directly onto Account Executives' calendars. Our growth depends on a steady stream of the right people getting into the right conversations, and you're the one making that happen every day on the phone.
You'll run Rebar's proven cold-open playbook, qualify hard before you book, and hand off clean, well-documented meetings that set the AE up to win. The ramp is fast: you'll be booking real meetings in your first few weeks. And this isn't a dead-end seat. BDRs who perform have a real, defined path to Account Executive.
You WillFind, qualify, and bookWork a pre-built, enriched calling queue (list-building and enrichment are handled upstream, so you spend your time dialing, not sourcing)
Run real discovery on the first call instead of a scripted pitch, and qualify prospects against a clear, defined bar before booking anything
Book qualified meetings directly onto Account Executive calendars, with clean handoff notes so the AE walks in already oriented
Log every call outcome accurately: your dispositions feed the pipeline directly and become a live signal into the product roadmap
Ramp on a shared foundation covering every segment we sell into, then go deep on one (mechanical, electrical, or distribution)
Build real fluency in how commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing shops actually operate, no prior trade background required
Get coached weekly on your actual calls: openers, objection handling, qualification discipline
Own a monthly qualified-meeting quota that ramps over your first few months
Work inside one live dialer as your system of record; no side spreadsheets, no manual pipeline upkeep
Turn a "not now" into a real re-engagement opportunity instead of a dead lead
Real cold-calling or outbound experience, in any industry; comfortable with high call volume and frequent rejection
Resilient: doesn't fold at the first brush-off, stays genuinely curious about what's actually going on with a prospect
Coachable: takes direct, specific feedback on call technique and applies it immediately
Comfortable in early-stage environments: scrappy, creative, and fast
Exceptional verbal communication; builds rapport and credibility fast with a skeptical, operator-led buyer
Prior BDR/SDR experience at a B2B SaaS or workflow-software company
Experience selling or working in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or an adjacent trades/construction segment
Familiarity with a modern dialer (Nooks, Hubspot, or similar)
Worked in construction and then moved into sales or construction-tech
Salary: competitive base + per-meeting bonus, plus a ramp-period bonus in your first month.
Equity: meaningful grant, aligned with your background
Benefits: medical, dental, vision
Perks: free lunches and dinners
