As a Business Development Representative – Payments in Sales, you drive revenue growth by winning new clients and expanding relationships with existing clients across an assigned territory. You engage prospects through proactive outreach, assess business needs, and deliver tailored solutions that create value for clients. You build and maintain a healthy pipeline, accurately document activity, and consistently execute to agreed sales objectives.

Job responsibilities
  • Generate revenue by promoting and selling payment products and services to new and existing clients within an assigned territory
  • Prospect and source opportunities through outbound outreach, referrals, and relationship-based selling
  • Conduct discovery conversations to identify client needs and recommend tailored solutions
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals aligned to client requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with bank partners to drive referral opportunities
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, pricing, and competitive landscape to support effective selling
  • Manage a consistent pipeline by qualifying leads, progressing opportunities, and closing business
  • Document sales activities and client interactions accurately and promptly in designated systems
  • Prepare and deliver regular activity, pipeline, and performance reporting
  • Provide post-sale follow-up to support client satisfaction, retention, and expansion opportunities
  • Travel locally for in-person meetings as business needs require
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of outside sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify opportunities, and close sales against targets
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a client-first approach
  • Ability to assess client needs and translate them into clear, tailored recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and consistent follow-through
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based environment while maintaining high productivity
  • Ability to travel locally for client and partner meetings as required
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Acadian French (written and verbal)
  • Ability to service clients across the province of New Brunswick
  • Familiarity with payment solution products and pricing, including Chase Payment Solutions
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience selling merchant services, payments, or financial technology solutions
  • Experience building referral networks through bank or strategic partnerships
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management tools and pipeline management practices
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfort handling objections
  • Existing relationships with small and mid-sized businesses within New Brunswick
  • Preference to be based in or near Moncton, Saint John, or Fredericton
  • Experience collaborating with internal sales and support teams to improve the end-to-end client experience
