About the Role 

This role is built for a new business hunter. We are looking for a hands-on Business Development manager with strong B2B sales experience who thrives on prospecting, opening doors, and closing new customers. Your success will come from your own pipeline, activity and results.  You’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new customers, engaging senior decision makers, and positioning AI-led solutions that solve real business problems. If you’re motivated by targets, enjoy building momentum through high activity, and want to continue growing as a high performing individual contributor — this role is for you. 

This is a permanent, full-time position and can be based in Auckland or Wellington with flexible hybrid working arrangements. 

Responsibilities 

  • Proactively hunting and closing new business opportunities  
  • Building and maintaining a healthy new business pipeline  
  • Engaging decision makers through outbound activity, discovery calls and meetings  
  • Running end-to-end sales cycles — from first contact to close  
  • Delivering tailored demos and solution presentations  
  • Negotiating commercials and crafting compelling proposals  
  • Using a structured sales methodology to drive consistent results  
  • Collaborating with marketing, presales and wider sales teams to maximise wins  
  • Bringing energy, resilience and pace to a fastmoving sales environment 

Requirements  

  • 3–5 years’ B2B sales experience, with a strong focus on new business acquisition  
  • Background in SaaS, software, legal, compliance, professional services or similar   
  • AI Fluency and have strong understanding of the business benefits of AI (preferred)
  • Proven success consistently hitting or exceeding sales targets  
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle end-to-end  
  • Strong prospecting, qualification and closing skills  
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders in a consultative sales environment  
  • Excellent communication and presentation capability  
  • CRM experience (Salesforce exposure highly regarded)  
  • A genuine hunter mindset — driven, resilient and motivated by results
