Business Development Manager
Location: Tampa [Hybrid] Company: LST Group
Job Description
LST Group is seeking an energetic, highly-driven Business Development Manager with strong integrity to grow our business portfolio and expand our footprint nationwide. You will be responsible for opening new markets, introducing our services and capabilities to prospects, and finding the best solution for our company to support their freight transportation/supply chain goals. This position leads the charge in expanding our market share while developing meaningful, business advisory relationships with clients.
Success in this role requires consistency and follow-through: a disciplined, daily commitment to prospecting activity, and the resilience to stay engaged with a pipeline.  We're looking for someone who treats business development as a habit, not a campaign — someone who shows up every day with the same focus and energy, regardless of the previous day's outcome.
What You'll Do
As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities while helping these clients solve their logistics and supply chain challenges. You'll serve as the face of LST Group in new markets, introducing our capabilities, customizing solutions, and nurturing relationships that lead to long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement tailored growth strategies to attract new clients
  • Maintain a consistent, disciplined prospecting cadence — balancing calls, in-person visits, referrals, networking, market research, and digital/social outreach rather than relying on any single channel
  • Identify and pursue prospects through internal leads, referrals, market research, and social media outreach
  • Build rapport and trust with potential clients through in-person visits, phone calls, and digital communication
  • Leverage and grow existing customer relationships to identify referral opportunities, additional lanes, and expanded service needs
  • Learn each client's logistics goals and align LST Group's solutions to meet their needs
  • Coordinate with the Account Management team & leadership to manage RFPs, quotes, and customer onboarding
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new accounts
  • Understand decision-making structures within target companies to effectively navigate opportunities
  • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent communication, high-touch service, and strategic support
  • Outline & maintain a clear, goal-oriented business development plan that defines strategies, actions, and daily behaviors needed to accomplish personal and company goals
  • Track prospecting activity and pipeline progress with the discipline to stay engaged through longer sales cycles
What You Bring
  • Proven success in sales and business development
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Demonstrated tenacity and consistency in prospecting — comfortable with a high-activity, multi-touch approach to pipeline building
  • Existing book of business or established customer/industry relationships a plus
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft products
  • Understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
  • Logistics or transportation experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred)
Benefits of Working at LST Group
  • Opportunity for growth & positions of greater responsibility and reward in a rapidly growing company
  • Autonomy and Trust: Enjoy the freedom to make decisions that best serve our business
  • Competitive Salary
  • Salary + Commission: Earn a competitive base salary in addition to an above industry average commission structure with unlimited earning potential and no commission caps
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy quality health insurance benefits & 401K match
  • A team of seasoned, experienced logisticians to work with
