About Talus

Talus' mission is to realize humanity's sustainable future by improving access to food and fuel for all. We achieve this by producing green ammonia -- the fundamental component of all synthetic fertilizers -- using renewable electricity, water, and air.

We're building a distributed network of modular green ammonia systems globally, offering reliable, carbon-free ammonia to our partners at a fraction of the current market price. Our first system is operational in Kenya, and we aim to expand our platform to enhance access to locally produced renewable energy and alternative fuels worldwide.

As the company scales its U.S. project pipeline and enters a critical phase of growth, they are looking to bring on a Business Development Manager to work directly alongside the President, helping drive project execution and new development across the Midwest/Plains region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execution of Talus’ U.S. project pipeline across the Midwest / Plains

  • Engage with electric utilities and rural cooperatives to identify and secure 11–22MW power supply

  • Lead or support land acquisition efforts, working directly with farmers, landowners, and agricultural stakeholders

  • Support community engagement efforts tied to project siting and development

  • Assist in structuring and advancing long-term ammonia offtake agreements

  • Support commercial efforts tied to selling green attributes to corporate partners (e.g., food & beverage, agriculture)

  • Collaborate closely with deployment and operations teams to move projects from concept through execution

  • Support future international expansion efforts (South America) as the platform scales

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in project development, land acquisition, or business development within renewables (wind/solar) or agriculture/ethanol

  • Strong understanding of electric utilities, power markets, or rural electric cooperatives

  • Experience working with landowners, farmers, or rural stakeholders

  • Ability to operate in a high-autonomy, early-stage environment

  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with power procurement, interconnection, or energy contracting

  • Background in ethanol, RNG, or ag-adjacent infrastructure

  • Exposure to offtake agreements or commodity-based contracting

  • Experience working across multiple geographies or international markets

What Talus Offers

  • An opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization with a global impact.

  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment.

  • A chance to drive meaningful projects that directly benefit smallholder farmers.

Join a team making a global impact on climate change and food security and transforming the future of sustainable agriculture. Interested candidates should submit their application, including a CV and cover letter, to the Talus recruitment team.
