Required Skills and Abilities
- Sales Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven sales experience in the sustainability domain, preferably sustainability services, with a history of achieving targets.
- EU Market Knowledge: Experience working with or selling to businesses in the EU, ideally across multiple sectors.
- Sustainability Background: Experience or education in sustainability, environmental science, or related areas (e.g., ESG, emissions reduction) is highly desirable.
- English Language Proficiency: An Advanced level of English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Multilingual Capability: Proficiency in at least one additional European language (Spanish, German, French, Polish, or Italian) to connect with a wider audience.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel across the EU approximately once per month for client meetings and events.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities, adept at engaging diverse stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Abilities
- Regulatory Insight: Familiarity with EU sustainability regulations, such as the CSRD, ESRS, or Green Claims Directive, is a plus, along with an interest in compliance and its evolving impact on businesses.
- Technical Comfort: Ability to discuss data-driven sustainability tools with clients confidently.
- Network: Established contacts in EU industries or sustainability circles to jumpstart outreach.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Sales Execution: Identify and secure clients across multiple sectors, pitching COVERE²’s sustainability services to meet their environmental and regulatory needs; plan and execute outbound and inbound sales campaigns.
- Market Outreach: In collaboration with the marketing team, develop a steady pipeline of leads through networking, outreach, and participation in industry events (e.g., sustainability forums, trade fairs).
- Client Engagement: Communicate the value of COVERE²’s offerings, from emissions tracking to regulatory compliance, adapting pitches to various industries.
- Relationship Management: Build lasting client partnerships, ensuring satisfaction and spotting opportunities to introduce additional sustainability services.
- Collaboration: Partner with the COVERE² technical, consulting, and marketing teams to refine strategies and share market insights, while leveraging an existing network of partners to establish direct connections with key clients.
- Travel: Conduct frequent in-person meetings and presentations across the EU, up to 30 percent.
- Reporting: Monitor sales progress, maintain accurate records, and update the COVERE² leadership team regularly.
