About Palmstreet:
Palmstreet is the #1 live shopping platform for rare plants, handmade crafts, collectibles, and unique goods. Founded in 2020 by Instagram and Apple veterans, Palmstreet began as a plant identification app and quickly evolved into a trailblazer in live shopping, beginning with plant sellers. Fueled by a passionate community, we rapidly expanded into new categories. Collectibles, launched in 2025, is one of our fastest-growing categories.
Our vision is to become the "World's Online Main Street," bringing the charm of in-person shopping to engaging, social online experiences. Backed by top Silicon Valley VCs and powered by a nimble, empathetic team, we've grown our GMV by 1500x in the last 3 years.
As we continue shaping the future of social commerce, we're looking for talented individuals who are excited to grow with us and join our mission.
The Opportunity:
Palmstreet is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to help take our Collectibles category to the next level. A year after launch, Collectibles is already our fastest-growing category and is becoming an industry-leading player. We're now looking for a builder who can scale our existing core subcategories (toys, Disney, trading cards) while identifying and launching the next big opportunities.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of social commerce by acquiring and growing top sellers through strategic outreach, onboarding, coaching, and early-stage relationship building. You'll partner directly with the Head of Collectibles to set category direction, prioritize where we go next, and own the execution that gets us there.
This is a remote role reporting to the Head of Collectibles and working closely with the Palmstreet GTM, Seller Success/Onboarding, and Marketing teams. There is a preference for a Los Angeles-based professional who is willing to travel 25% (trade shows, seller visits, and team off-sites), but open to other locations for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
This is a full-time role that blends strategic category work with high-output seller engagement and acquisition. Expect to spend your time across the following focus areas:
Category Growth and Seller Recruitment
Build and execute strategy to scale existing collectibles subcategories
Recruit and activate high-potential sellers
Reach out to new leads through outbound emails, social media, calls, and visits
Develop and deepen relationships with strategic sellers through coaching and tactical support
Represent Palmstreet at industry events and within collector communities
Category Strategy & Expansion
Partner with the Head of Collectibles to set strategy across core and emerging subcategories
Identify and test new category opportunities using a mix of market data, seller signal, and buyer behavior
Lead GTM activities for promising new subcategories: source initial sellers, create the marketing strategy, set early benchmarks, and decide whether to invest deeper or move on
Translate learnings into recommendations on category structure, marketing investment, and product needs
Maintain a clear point of view on competitive positioning across all categories of collectibles
Seller Acquisition & Activation
Pitch Palmstreet through discovery and closing calls (virtual and in-person) and onboard new sellers from first contact through their debut livestream
Manage a pipeline of prospective sellers across the collectibles ecosystem, from established category-leaders to emerging sellers with category-building potential
Balance high-touch onboarding for strategic accounts with scaled support for inbound or early-stage sellers
Revenue & Category Growth Ownership
Hit clear performance goals:
GMV growth across your cohort of strategic sellers/subcategories
Number of new sellers acquired, onboarded, and live
New buyer growth and retention
Identify creative ways to source new leads via digital outreach, trade shows, partnerships, and referrals
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and GTM teammates to shape growth strategies and campaign participation
Qualifications:
5+ years in business development, partnerships, or sales, preferably in a marketplace or at early- to mid-stage startups
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify, test, and scale new opportunities, not just execute on a defined playbook
Proven ability to successfully manage both outbound sales pipelines and strategic accounts
Experience onboarding and enabling sellers in both high-touch and scalable ways
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in tools like Hubspot or similar CRMs
Broad interest in or familiarity with collectibles culture (sports cards, TCG, comics, memorabilia, vintage toys, designer toys, video games, or adjacent verticals) is a strong plus
Smart, hands-on, and high-hustle approach to ambiguous problems
Your Location: Remote - Anywhere in the US, Los Angeles preferred
Travel: Expected travel up to 25% for trade shows, seller visits and team offsites
Compensation:
Base Salary: $90,000–$140,000, depending on experience level and location
Commission structure to be discussed
Equity: Granted after 6 months and reaching key performance milestones
In addition to base salary and commission, the compensation for this role includes:
Equity Incentive Plan
Generous health insurance contribution (for you & dependents)
Dental & vision insurance
Life insurance
12 paid holidays + Paid Time Off (PTO) + Paid Sick Days
401(k) plan with company matching
Remote Work Expense reimbursement
Work From Home Setup and Learning & Development stipend
Palmstreet credit
