Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for leading the Business Development function for Par Health. The role will lead sourcing, screening, evaluating, and negotiating new business opportunities for licensing or M&A. The focus also includes identifying, evaluating and creating opportunities for overall growth, profitability and development of the business. In this role the Director will also be involved in reviewing and assessing international business development opportunities.

Will be involved in tracking BD budget and spend, working with the finance and tax groups.

Identify & Evaluate Opportunities

  • Activities include sourcing, screening, evaluating, and championing opportunities.

  • Lead strategic and financial analysis that guide business development decisions including in-licensing pipeline opportunities, product acquisitions M&A, and international opportunities.

  • Leads the due diligence efforts with internal and external teams for new product and business opportunities

  • Facilitates senior management briefings on business development opportunities.

Contract Negotiations

  • Supported by internal and external counsel, leads contract negotiations and coordinates with all relevant functional teams the successful completion of the specific form of agreement.

Business Transition

  • Manages transition of a successful business transaction to project management and a cross-functional integration team.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum BA; MS, MBA or Scientific background highly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Pharmaceutical industry experience including at least 8 years of progressive Business Development experience
  • Experience with both generic and sterile products
  • Demonstrated track record of deal execution

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the generics pharmaceutical and sterile injectables markets, including the commercial, and regulatory landscape
  • Strong understanding of licensing agreements and merger and acquisitions processes
  • Understanding of legal strategies, patents, Hatch Waxman, Paragraph IV litigation, and launch at risk scenarios 
  • Financial acumen, including proficiency in spreadsheet modeling (e.g., cash flow valuation analysis)
  • Business acumen including analytic skills, strategic thinking, creativity in problem-solving

Working Conditions
