About the Role

Invent Consulting is looking for a Business Development & Administrative Assistant to support our business development activities and day-to-day coordination of our Rwanda operations. The role will work closely with the Country Representative – Rwanda and the wider Invent team. The primary focus will be on identifying potential business opportunities, conducting market and prospect research, supporting lead generation and follow-ups, maintaining business development records, and assisting with proposals and client engagement activities. The role will also provide basic administrative and coordination support for the Rwanda operations. This is a hands-on support role suited to someone who is proactive, organized, good with people, comfortable with follow-up, and interested in developing a career in business development and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Support
  • Research potential clients, organizations and business opportunities in Rwanda.
  • Support lead generation through online research, networking, referrals and other appropriate channels.
  • Identify and maintain a list of prospective clients.
  • Conduct initial outreach to prospects and support follow-up activities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of leads, contacts and opportunities.
  • Assist in arranging meetings between prospective clients and the Country Representative or relevant Invent team members.
  • Follow up on agreed actions after meetings and maintain records of next steps.
  • Gather basic information on prospective clients and their business needs.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of proposals, presentations, expressions of interest and other business development documents.
  • Monitor relevant business opportunities, tenders, events and networking opportunities.
  • Conduct basic market research and share relevant findings with the Country Representative.
  • Assist with maintaining the business development pipeline and preparing regular activity updates.
  • Support other business development activities as directed by the Country Representative.
Administration & Coordination
  • Provide basic administrative support for the Rwanda operations.
  • Maintain records, documents and other relevant information.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings.
  • Support routine communication and follow-up between the Rwanda operations and the Kenya office.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements for meetings and business activities.
  • Support general administrative tasks as required.


RequirementsQualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, Administration or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in business development, sales support, customer service, administration, marketing or a related area.
  • Must currently be based in Rwanda.
  • Good understanding of the local business environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with prospective clients and following up on leads.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills.
  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Experience in technology, consulting or professional services will be an advantage.
