The Role

GitKraken is seeking a Business Data Architect to join the finance team to architect and implement solutions that empower our organization to make data-driven decisions with clarity and confidence. In this hands-on role, you'll shape our business intelligence strategy and design scalable data infrastructure to unlock actionable insights across GitKraken. 

What You'll Do

Architect Our Data Foundation

• Design and implement a unified data architecture that creates a cohesive business intelligence platform
• Build automated ETL pipelines using SQL and Python to eliminate manual data reconciliation processes
• Establish data governance frameworks and quality standards that ensure accuracy and consistency across all business metrics
• Create scalable data models that support both operational reporting and strategic forecasting needs

Bridge Finance & GTM Intelligence

• Integrate Financial and Operating data systems to create comprehensive performance management and forecasting capabilities
• Build real-time dashboards and reporting systems using Tableau and related dashboarding capabilities that provide actionable insights to leadership
• Design attribution models that accurately track customer journey economics from lead acquisition through renewal

Enable Data-Driven Decision Making

• Create self-service analytics platforms that empower teams to access reliable business intelligence without technical or manual dependencies
• Develop predictive models and forecasting algorithms using Python and SQL to support strategic planning
• Build automated anomaly detection systems to catch critical business metric changes
• Establish data lineage and documentation standards that ensure transparency and auditability across all systems

Optimize Performance & Scalability

• Leverage Snowflake data warehousing capabilities to handle increasing data volume
• Implement cloud-based data processing workflows using AWS/GCP that support real-time and batch analytics requirements
• Design API integrations that seamlessly connect our data architecture with existing and future SaaS tools
• Create automated testing and monitoring frameworks that ensure data pipeline reliability and performance
  

What You’ll Bring

Data Architecture Mastery

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing business data architectures in high-growth SaaS environments
• Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling with proven track record of building scalable data pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake, data warehousing concepts, and cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS/GCP preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions

Finance & GTM Data Expertise

• Experience integrating financial systems (NetSuite, Planful) with CRM platforms (HubSpot) for comprehensive revenue operations
• Understanding of SaaS financial metrics, subscription revenue models, and customer lifetime value calculations
• Knowledge of revenue recognition, financial reporting requirements, and audit-ready data governance practices

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for creating executive dashboards and self-service analytics
• Experience building predictive models and forecasting systems that support strategic business planning
• Track record of translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions

AI & Automation Skills

• Experience with AI-powered data processing, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics implementations
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, tools, and algorithms (AWS Machine Learning, Support Vector Machines, Monte Carlo Method, etc), and their application to business intelligence use cases

Collaboration & Impact

• Proven ability to work effectively across Finance, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
• Experience supporting data needs for scaling organizations

Bonus Points

• Experience with developer tooling business models and technical product analytics
• Background with compliance and audit requirements for financial data systems
• Knowledge of real-time data processing, streaming analytics, and event-driven architectures
• Experience with ETL Pipelines and AirFlow

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, AZ. This role combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of meaningful in-person collaboration. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Phoenix area.
