The Business Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting data to ensure quality and accuracy, enabling informed business decisions for innovation and growth. This role collaborates with key stakeholders to meet analytical needs and support Marketing and Sales initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gather, organize and manage data from various sources, including in-house financial systems, Salesforce, and 3rd party data to support Marketing and Sales initiatives (heavy use of SQL).
- Develop a deep understanding of the data by exploring the database structure and organization, including tables, fields, and relationships.
- Develop and maintain data integration processes that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales stakeholders to understand their projects and initiatives, determining the appropriate data sets and analysis techniques to support project success.
- Build analyses and reports to track initiative performance and other key metrics.
- Develop and implement data-driven tools and processes to monitor initiative performance, track progress towards goals, and identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear and concise visualizations and presentations.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve data capture, organization, and analysis.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience as a data analyst, financial analyst or in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced SQL skills (able to create and modify queries and stored procedures)
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query is a plus)
- Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus
- Power BI experience is a plus
- Google Analytics or data visualization experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Critical thinking to determine what data and information is useful for the task
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
