Individual contributor role responsible for driving strategic and operational business initiatives for CNA's Global Casualty Organization. This role that will engage with high priority work and collaborate with stakeholders across underwriting, operations, actuarial, claims, and distribution to provide project and thought leadership.
In partnership with senior management, this role participates in the planning & execution of projects related to Workers Compensation, General Liability, Automobile, and Umbrella/Excess. The role will ensure plans are well-defined, enable collaboration across the organization and will monitor progress to completion. Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills are required to influence at various levels across stakeholder groups to ensure successful delivery of business initiatives and projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Manages the portfolio of Global Casualty strategic and operation initiatives. The specific role on each project varies based on needs, i.e. lead, guide or track.
Designs and executes project plans in conjunction with senior management; supports enterprise project management through creation and communication of process to ensure consistent alignment.
Leads project teams in developing tactical strategies to achieve Global Casualty goals; influences, informs, aligns and guides teams at the appropriate level of detail.
Creates high-quality deliverables related to strategic assessments to enable collaboration and decision-making with leaders and stakeholders.
Develops and integrates consistent monitoring and governance across the organization to track performance, internal and external trends, and enable adjustments to strategies.
Collaborates with business partners in Legal, Risk Control, Actuarial, Claim, Operations and Compliance to drive projects and address issues and opportunities across the business unit.
Manages outcomes through implementation of cross-functional strategy execution progress reviews.
Coaches and directs team members and drives accountability on deliverables, may participate in the selection of project team members.
Analyzes data from projects, updates management with progress and makes recommendations based upon team's findings.
Liaises with internal stakeholders to build collaboration and ensure operational activities align with business goals and strategies.
Manage and escalate issues or risks with suggested mitigation tactics to senior management.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Stays current on trends and developments in functional area of expertise and the insurance industry.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Solid working knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry including products, processes and functional disciplines. Senior level knowledge in consulting and process improvement principles in area of discipline.
Ability to manage a team through the use of group dynamics while encouraging creativity andinnovation.
Advanced communication and presentation skills both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate business and technical information clearly. Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills.
Experience developing and presenting a wide range of content and analysis for various leaders and stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
Must be results-oriented and able to problem solve and work well independently and/or in a team environment. Stays informed on relevant insurance industry trends. Uses metrics and information analysis and accesses technology resources as needed.
Value driven to provide superior solutions to internal and/or external customers. Acts with a sense of urgency to advance priorities of the organization.Helps other to excel through collaboration and building strong relationships.
Thinks creatively and uses diverse ideas to solve problems.
Education & Experience:
1.Bachelor's Degree in business, operations management, or industrial engineering or related field.
2.Typically a minimum of nine years experience required including managing large projects.
3. Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance strongly preferred.

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $87,000 to $178,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
