POSITION PURPOSE

The IT team provides end-to-end technology support, from infrastructure and cybersecurity to user support and application development, helping the credit union operate efficiently and serve members effectively.

The Business Applications Analyst II plays a key role within the IT team by ensuring enterprise applications effectively support business operations and organizational goals. The role drives operational efficiency and system reliability through analysis, enhancement, and implementation of application solutions.

By evaluating existing systems and delivering improvements or new solutions, this position reduces manual effort, strengthens processes, and supports seamless operations across the Credit Union. Working closely with business units, the analyst translates requirements into practical system configurations, ensuring applications align with operational needs and improve user experience.

Additionally, the role contributes to the stability and scalability of the IT environment by supporting integrations, identifying opportunities for improvement, providing leadership within the team, and managing more complex projects to ensure applications remain aligned with evolving business and strategic priorities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

SERVICE:

  • Assumes responsibility for supporting, demonstrating, and promoting the Credit Union SERVICE culture. RESPONSIBILITIES: 

CREDIT UNION APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT

  • Leads cross-functional collaboration with business and technical stakeholders to proactively identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve complex application issues within assigned domains, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Owns the resolution of escalated application incidents, partnering with the IT Help Desk to address complex issues and independently managing vendor relationships to drive timely resolution, including escalation management and coordination of support activities.
  • Leads application continuity and resilience efforts by partnering with technical teams to validate backup processes, maintain and enhance application-specific business continuity plans, and coordinate and execute continuity testing to ensure operational readiness.
  • Owns the application lifecycle for assigned systems, coordinating cross-functional resources to plan and execute application upgrades, enhancements, and patching activities. Ensures systems remain current, secure, and compliant by proactively addressing vulnerabilities and minimizing business impact through effective release management.
  • Independently prioritizes and resolves application issues within assigned systems

ANALYSIS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Performs analytic studies of existing applications and reports on their ability to meet the end users’ business needs and highlights any gaps that require further analysis.
  • Collaborates with business and technical resources to identify, design and implement new applications for organizational use.
  • Researches industry trends, evaluates new and existing vendor solutions, analyzes competitive market data relative to member delivery channels, and prepares recommendations to support JHCU’s overall channel strategy

END USER SUPPORT & PARTNERSHIP

  • Builds collaborative relationships with end users to include business partners, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholder to support application performance and organizational objectives
  • Collaborates with training resources to develop appropriate end user documentation and training materials.
  • Handles and protects sensitive and confidential information, including but not limited to employee activity, internal investigations, member-related matters, general investigations, and law enforcement action in accordance with organizational policies.

OTHER DUTIES    

  • Remains compliant with applicable statutes and regulations, including but not limited to the BSA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, SAFE Act and USA Patriot Act.  
  • Ensures compliance with Credit Union standards and makes recommendations as needed. 
  • Responsible for any additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 5+ years’ experience with applications support in a financial institution environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 2 Years experience leading or coordinating projects 
  • Experience independently managing multiple applications, including integrations and dependencies across core and related systems (e.g., core banking platforms, CRM, and third-party solution
  • Demonstrated experience leading application initiatives or projects, including coordinating cross-functional resources and delivering solutions aligned to business objectives
  • Proven ability to work directly with vendors and external partners, including managing support escalations, coordinating deliverables, and driving issue resolution
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence, while collaborating effectively with business, technical, and leadership stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to leverage tools to support analysis, documentation, and communication

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The ability to work a hybrid work arrangement is based on work performance and the ability to create and maintain engaging work relationships.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
