POSITION PURPOSE

The IT team provides end-to-end technology support, from infrastructure and cybersecurity to user support and application development, helping the credit union operate efficiently and serve members effectively.

The Business Applications Analyst I supports the Credit Union’s technology environment by helping ensure applications function effectively to meet day-to-day operational needs.

This role works closely with business units, IT teams, and vendors to assist in troubleshooting application issues, maintaining system functionality, and supporting enhancements. The analyst helps translate business needs into system configurations and contributes to improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.

The position supports the lifecycle of enterprise applications, including basic configuration, testing, upgrades, and documentation. Through collaboration and guided analysis, the analyst helps ensure systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.

Overall, this role contributes to reliable application performance and supports ongoing improvements that help the organization operate efficiently and deliver consistent service to staff and members.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

SERVICE:

  • Assumes responsibility for supporting, demonstrating, and promoting the Credit Union SERVICE culture. Support, Educate, Respect, Value, Innovate, Communicate, Empower.  Consistently demonstrates a commitment to the Credit Union’s principles of equity and belonging, by modeling inclusive behaviors, proactively managing bias and supporting JHFCU’s diverse employee base and membership.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

CREDIT UNION APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT

  • Collaborates independently with business and technical resources to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve application issues within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Works with the IT help desk to resolve complex application issues that the help desk cannot resolve.  Escalates support calls with the appropriate application vendors.
  • Assists technical resources with business continuity functions including confirmation of application backups, updating business continuity plans associated with the application, and assists with testing of business continuity plans.
  • Responsible for keeping application versions current by coordinating technical and functional resources for application upgrades including application of patches to resolve any critical vulnerabilities identified by IT.

ANALYSIS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Performs analytic studies of existing applications and reports on their ability to meet the end users’ business needs and highlights any gaps that require further analysis.
  • Collaborates with business and technical resources to identify, design and implement new applications for organizational use.
  • Researches industry trends, evaluates new and existing vendor solutions, analyzes competitive market data relative to member delivery channels, and prepares recommendations to support JHCU’s overall channel strategy

END USER SUPPORT & PARTNERSHIP

  • Builds collaborative relationships with end users to include business partners, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholder to support application performance and organizational objectives
  • Collaborates with training resources to develop appropriate end user documentation and training materials.
  • Handles and protects sensitive and confidential information, including but not limited to employee activity, internal investigations, member-related matters, general investigations, and law enforcement action in accordance with organizational policies.

OTHER DUTIES    

  • Remains compliant with applicable statutes and regulations, including but not limited to the BSA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, SAFE Act and USA Patriot Act.  
  • Ensures compliance with Credit Union standards and makes recommendations as needed. 
  • Responsible for any additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree
  • 1–3 years of experience in application support, IT, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Basic understanding of business applications and systems support
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and support solution development
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of financial institution operations is helpful but not required

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The ability to work a hybrid work arrangement is based on work performance and the ability to create and maintain engaging work relationships.
