Snr Business Analyst - European Distributor Markets (EDM)
Reports to: EDM Commercial Lead
Position Summary
The EDM Snr Business Analyst is responsible for delivering strategic insights, business performance analytics, forecasting, reporting and decision support across Gilead's European Distributor Markets. The role serves as the primary analytics partner to the EDM Leadership Team, enabling data-driven decision-making across commercial performance, pricing, distributor management, financial planning, market access, supply planning and strategic initiatives.
The position works cross-functionally with Product Management, Finance, Commercial Operations, Trade Operations, Value & Access, Regulatory, Supply Chain and distributor partners to maximise growth, improve forecasting accuracy and identify opportunities to optimise business performance across all EDM markets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
Serve as the primary analytics partner to the EDM Leadership Team, providing strategic insight to support commercial decision-making.
Translate complex business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
Proactively identify commercial opportunities, emerging risks and performance improvement initiatives.
Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders using clear, compelling data storytelling.
Business Performance & Analytics
Develop and maintain EDM business performance dashboards and KPI frameworks.
Analyse sales, market share, distributor performance, pricing and profitability trends.
Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews for EDM leadership.
Support forecasting, budget and long-range planning processes.
Monitor performance against strategic and financial objectives.
Distributor & Commercial Insights
Generate actionable insights on distributor performance and market opportunities from internal and external data sources.
Support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRxs) with distributors.
Identify commercial opportunities, risks and corrective actions.
Evaluate market dynamics, competitive activity and launch readiness.
Forecasting & Planning
Lead sales forecasting and demand planning analytics.
Partner with Finance and Supply Planning teams to improve forecast accuracy.
Support launch forecasting and business case development for new products.
Provide scenario modelling and sensitivity analyses for strategic decisions.
KPI & Governance Leadership
Own EDM KPI architecture and reporting standards.
Ensure consistency across distributors and markets.
Support governance processes related to pricing, distributor agreements and strategic initiatives.
Drive data quality and reporting discipline across the organisation.
Data & Digital Enablement
Develop automated dashboards and reporting tools.
Improve use of Power BI, analytics platforms and data visualisation tools.
Streamline business intelligence processes through automation and standardisation.
Promote a data-driven culture across EDM.
Evaluate and implement modern analytical approaches, including AI-enabled analytics and digital tools where appropriate.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance or related discipline.
Significant experience in pharmaceutical analytics, commercial excellence, business intelligence or forecasting.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Experience with forecasting models, dashboard development and performance management.
Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
Preferred
Experience working within distributor-led or international markets.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing, market access and commercial operations.
Experience supporting leadership teams and strategic decision-making.
