naJob Description Summary:The Business Analyst serves as the critical link between business stakeholders, development teams, and operational management. Within OMFIN's microlending environment, the role is essential to ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, processes are optimised, systems operate as intended, and management information is reliable. The responsibilities of the role are structured across the following eight core areas:
Job Description:
Requirements Gathering
Meet with stakeholders across OMFIN to understand business needs, objectives, and challenges.
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, including meetings and interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis.
Identify, elicit, and document project and process requirements (both functional and non-functional).
Analyse and validate requirements with the original users, eliminating ambiguity and ensuring accuracy.
Express requirements clearly in terms of target user roles and goals to enable unambiguous delivery.
Business Process Analysis
Analyse current business processes and workflows to develop a thorough understanding of the as-is operating environment.
Support and contribute to the documentation of as-is and to-be processes, accurately describing the changes required to migrate to the desired future state.
Identify inefficiencies, risks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities within existing processes.
Explore emerging developments or trends and evaluate their potential impact on, or relevance to, OMFIN's operations.
Stakeholder Management
Communicate effectively with business users, management, IT teams, and third-party vendors throughout project and change cycles.
Ensure alignment between business expectations and project outcomes at every stage.
Interpret business needs and identify solution recommendations to problems at a business unit level.
Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders on requirements status, risks, and decisions required.
Solution Design Support
Assist in defining system or process solutions that address identified business needs.
Translate business requirements into clear specifications for technical and development teams.
Carry out feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects, contributing to the development and continuous review of business cases.
Testing and Validation
Define testing scripts and verification criteria to ensure that solutions meet agreed business requirements.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes, new features, and process implementations.
Verify that delivered solutions are fit for purpose before sign-off, documenting results and outstanding items.
Maintain documentation and traceability throughout the project lifecycle to support audit and post-implementation review.
Change Management Support
Help business users adapt to new systems, processes, and ways of working.
Develop training materials, user guides, and support documentation for operational changes.
Create and maintain technical and user documentation to a high standard, with appropriate version control and back-up procedures.
Support a culture of innovation by contributing to platforms and initiatives that encourage creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Project Support
Work closely with project managers and the Operations Manager to track scope, risks, issues, and deliverables across active initiatives.
Ensure that business objectives remain the focus throughout the project lifecycle, preventing scope creep and misalignment.
Develop business cases to support informed decision-making.
Support the monitoring and reporting of initiative progress to management and relevant governance forums.
Minimum Requirements:
Namibian citizenship.
Degree in Economics, Business Management, Banking, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry. Exposure to the lending business in Namibia is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Office, and data analysis and visualization tools.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Above average numerical ability required.
Excellent time management skills required.
Strong team player, capable of stepping in other roles
