IT Business Analyst / Data Analyst – Banking Software
Translates business and data requirements into Agile‑ready solutions while ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and regulatory readiness for banking software platforms.
Job Summary
This position is essential, serving as a foundation for achieving successful development outcomes. The IT Business Analyst / Data Analyst partners with business and technology teams to deliver compliant, data‑driven banking software solutions. This role is responsible for translating business needs into clear Agile requirements, analyzing data across systems, and supporting reporting, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis
· Translate business needs into clear user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria using Agile methodologies and Jira
· Analyze business and technical requirements, including legacy applications, databases, APIs, and existing data logic
· Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment and clarity
· Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining test scenarios, validating results, and assisting with defect resolution
Data Analysis & Reporting
· Analyze and document data end‑to‑end, from source systems through transformations to final reports, dashboards, and downstream consumption
· Document data mappings, transformation logic, and data lineage
· Use SQL to analyze relational databases and support operational and reporting needs
· Support Jira dashboards and Power BI visualizations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role. Prior development background preferred.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in SQL and relational data analysis
- Familiarity with APIs, data integrations, and ETL processes
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
- Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking or financial services
- Exposure to core banking systems, digital banking platforms, or payment systems
- Agile certification (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
