The position of Business Analyst sits within the Workforce Renewal Team, reporting to the Workforce Development Manager.

In this role, you will provide high‑quality insights that support critical workforce planning, forecasting and strategic decision‑making. If you enjoy transforming data into meaningful stories, building robust reporting tools, and influencing organisational decisions, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within SP Energy Networks.

Responsibilities
Developing analysis tools to support data reporting for the recruitment and management of Trainees, you will create and maintain a suite of accurate, timely and repeatable reports, providing robust data analysis to support the Workforce Management team, highlighting trends and key performance metrics.

Owning the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Power BI dashboards, you will lead on performance and reporting management activities, ensuring outputs meet stakeholder needs whilst maintaining and developing data sources feeding into reporting dashboards.

Planning and prioritising reporting activities, meeting monthly deadlines whilst ensuring high-quality, accurate outputs, you will introduce innovative and efficient reporting practices, promoting data visualisation over manual reporting.

Developing new reports, ensuring consistent updates to existing reporting and presentation materials, you will produce charts, graphs and dashboards that communicate data clearly and effectively, providing accurate reporting and contribution to the preparation of the executive scorecard for the Workforce Management team.

Delivering ad‑hoc reports to support Strategic Workforce Planning and Programme Management, you will lead data analysis initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, supporting SP Energy Networks’ annual Trainee recruitment strategy.

Contributing to regulatory reporting requirements, you will provide data inputs and support submissions as needed, creating and implementing data governance standards to ensure clarity on data sources, update timings, accountability and conduct data quality audits before implementing remediation plans.

What you’ll bring

Educated to degree standard with experience in Reporting, Data Visualisation, Data Analysis and Modelling, you will bring your advanced proficiency in IT systems, Excel, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic and Power BI.

With your ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in Data Modelling, you will be familiar in engagement with stakeholders, gathering and documenting business requirements.

Skilled in information governance, GDPR and data confidentiality, you will possess a highly effective presentation and organisational capability with further abilities for data storytelling.
